This trip couldn't have gone better! Conditions weren't favorable, with a cold front and high winds bur Capt. Paul got us in sheltered areas that held fish. In the short 2.5 hour trip my wife, daughter, and I caught 7 different species. We also got to watch numerous dolphins doing whatever it is that dolphins do. Capt Paul was very professional, prompt, and his knowledge of the mangrove Islands was amazing. We can't wait until our next fishing trip with The Mangrove Man.
We booked a trip with Captain Paul for a Tuesday and the process was quite simple. Due to some scheduling issues, we rescheduled the trip for a Thursday, which was our initial preference. Due to weather, we were concerned that the trip might be unpleasant, but Captain Paul kept in contact with us and we only delayed the start of the trip by 15 minutes to allow the weather to clear. My wife, two 12 year old girls, and myself got on the boat and Captain Paul explained what we would be doing and answered all of our questions. He had a cooler of snacks and drinks available for our trip, as well as more than enough bait. As all of us were novices, Captain Paul worked with each of us to learn how to cast and where to cast. Eventually, we all caught a couple of fish (i.e., sheepshead, catfish, red drum, and mangrove snapper) and released them. I had even more success? catching mangrove limbs due to errant casting! Throughout it all, Captain Paul kept us informed, assisted us when needed, and made it a very enjoyable evening. We strongly recommend this charter and are definitely looking to book again when we have friends and relatives visiting.

Thank you, looking foreward to seeing you again.
Great outing. Even though it was rainy.

I was born in the panhandle of Florida where fishing and playing in the ocean was a big part of my life. I moved to the Florida Keys when I was 15 and learned all aspects of commercial fishing for about 15 years from long-lining for Shark and Swordfish to Shrimp boats, net boats, Lobster and Crab boats and hook and line fishing for Snapper and Grouper. I have spent most of my life on the water. I have been in the Naples area about 15 years now. I spent 10 years in the Everglades National park as a captain and a naturalist guide, so I have extensive knowledge of the SW Florida Ecosystem. I have been captaining fishing for 6 years in and around Naples Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, but in total, I have been fishing the waters of SW Florida for the last 30 years. Through the many years of travel on the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico, I had many adventures. One of them was rescuing Cuban refugees in the Florida Straits. I want to share my love and experience of fishing and boating with you.
