RT has over 48 years of experience fishing the waters surrounding Key West and is the recipient of the IGFA Lifetime Achievement Award & Legendary Captain's Award. Capt. Patrick has captained along Capt. RT's side for almost 10 years.
Having logged many hours on the waters surrounding Key West and the lower Keys, Capt. RT & Capt. Patrick almost never return to the dock with an empty fish box. At the end of your day, the Captains will filet your catch, if you would like.
Around here it's common to catch Sailfish, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, King Mackerel, Amberjack, Black Grouper, Permit, Barracuda, Mutton Snapper, Cobia, Blacktip Shark, Goliath Grouper, Bonito, and more if conditions allow. During the trip you might be live baiting, spinning, jigging,flyfishing or maybe something more specialized. Kite fishing is also practiced.
Trips with Spindrift Fishing Charters are fun for all ages, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Just bring your own food and drink, sunglasses, sunscreen & hat. We take care of everything else. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
You'll be fishing from a Yellowfin 39' center console powered by three 350 HP Suzuki engines with room for 6 passengers. It has all of the rods, reels, lures, outriggers, downriggers, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water.
Live bait leads to a great day… We often stop and catch live bait on the way to our fishing destination.
Sometimes a First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 20% tip is customary.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time!
