Round Up Fishing Charters – 54' Bertram 

We had an excellent experience with Captain John and First Mate Derek aboard the Visco fishing charter. From start to finish, they were friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about all things fishing. Everything was provided for us—rods, gear, and fishing licenses—making the trip completely hassle-free. The boat was clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable air-conditioned cabin and a bathroom onboard, which made the half-day trip very enjoyable for our group of four. There was also a cooler available for drinks, and we just brought our own food. Captain John and Derek worked hard to put us on the fish, and we caught some amazing ones. They even cleaned and prepared our catch so we could take it to a local restaurant to enjoy later—such a great touch! We highly recommend this charter and would absolutely book again.

Captain John is awesome and his mate Derek was top notch. We had some decent swells but they kept searching for the fish. We hooked into a school of mahi and pulled about 15 into the boat in 30 minutes. They take this stuff seriously and I’ll be calling him next time I’m back in the keys

The fishing was challenging, but the captain and mate worked diligently to catch something substantial. I’ll definitely book another trip with them. The cabin was cozy and spacious with cold. next year we will be back.

Captain John and his first mate Derek took great care of us on our say out. Capt John reached out in advance of our trip to see if we gad any questions. The boat was clean and fully equiped for the day. He knew some great spots to fish. We had a great time. At the end of the day, Capt John prepared some shashimi from our mackerel and tuna.

While the overall frío was enjoyable, the experience at the end left me extremely disappointed. I have gone on many fishing trips, and never has a captain ever eaten or kept any of my fish. After tipping a nice amount, we were waiting for captain John to filet our fish (took longer than usual) and we noticed he took out soy sauce and was eating some of the tuna we caught. To make matters worse, he casually mentioned “I took a fish for me, is that ok?” I was taken aback and said yes because I realized in that moment I would never book with him again. That was extremely unprofessional and I have never been asked that before. I find that completely disrespectful. The first mate, Derek, was amazing. We had a great time, but because of that experience, we won’t be booking again.

Captin and crew was great. We got 8 Black fin tuna and one Wahoo. We had a great time.

Loved this trip Capt. John and the first mate David were super friendly. We caught a wahoo, black fin tuna, a pair of bonitas. We hooked a sailfish and David helped me get the fish close to the boat but somehow I wasn’t able to catch the fish due to no fault of David. For no extra cost David filed our wahoo and tuna at the end of the trip and even gave us cooking recommendations on the fish. He showed us how to sashimi the tuna and we loved having both of them. Loved this experience and would recommend this to everyone from amateur fishers to professional sports fisher folks. They take card and Zelle and are a great pair to work with.

Thought we were booked with Capt John but got there and were with Capt Dan and Mike. They were absolutely awesome!! We had a rough day getting on the fish but caught a blue marlin. Absolute catch of a lifetime! Made even more so by the reaction of Dan and Mike. Didn’t realize what a rare catch this was in these parts. Thanks for the memories Dan and Mike!!
