Twilight Fishing Charters
Running fishing trips out of Melbourne,
Capt. Dale is here to get you on some fish, and to make sure you have fun doing it. You'll be using techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, drift fishing, and spinning, depending on what you're going after. As part of their 5-hour trips, you can target species like Snapper, Shark, King George Whiting, Salmon, and flathead, squid, pinkies, depending on the current season and weather conditions.
Your adventure begins on board a 22' Hydrofield boat that can fit a maximum of 4 anglers.
Whether you book for 2 or 4 people, there will be no other customers on the boat, will be just who you bring.
The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you'll need for a productive day on the water. Please keep in mind you'll need to get a fishing licence before the start of the trip
You're welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.
There will be complimentary snacks and drinks aboard for your convenience during the trip, but feel free to bring your own drinks or snacks if you prefer.
This is a children-friendly charter, so you're welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure.

Captain Dale was absolutely incredible!!! Although fishing is a hit or miss, captain Dale made sure we caught a bunch! We caught aroud 15 fish & 1 squid! To add onto that, he brought us UP CLOSE to a pod of dolphins & some seals!! They swam right next to our boat and it's something we'll never forget. If you're someone who doesn't like to touch bait, or doesn't know how to fish, Captain Dale will happily bait our hook, take the fish off the hook for you, cast out your pole if needed, and also teach you how to do it step by step if you want to learn. I also recommend if you don't want to be crowded with 10+ people on a small boat! He offers private charters, so it's just you and whoever you bring along! That was huge for us! Will definitely be booking again if we come back to Australia!

Great experience with Captain Dale!
Hi all, Booked an afternoon charter with Capt Dale from Twilight Fishing Charters on 29 Mar 2025. Very responsive on fishing booker and capt Dale even called me prior to the trip to provide some advice and checked to see if we are ready. One of my companions was very sea sick and capt Dale was quick to turn the boat back alongside to ensure she was okay. Within a few hours we caught dozens of good size pinkies and mackies (17 to 32cm). Cpt Dale is truly experienced with the fishing area in the bay. His bottom fishing and burly techniques are very effective. Even got to meet some wild sea lions too! Will definitely recommend his charter!

Fabulous skipper and lovely afternoon
Dale made this trip super lovely, doing everything to make sure we had some good catches (squid and pinkies on a very quiet winter's day. He was friendly and great with me and my teenagers. Happy to explain things and answer all kinds of curious questions. Having good weather was a bonus, but have nothing but praise for Dale and his operation. End to end experience 5 star! Not posting fish photos because they all include minors!

An Amazing First-Time Ocean Fishing Trip
It was our first time venturing out on an ocean fishing trip, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one we had with Captain Dale. From the moment we stepped aboard, he was warm, welcoming, and incredibly patient with us first-timers. Dale took his time teaching us how to properly handle the fishing rods, repeating the steps until we felt comfortable and confident. While the conditions were perfect, the action started off slow. But Dale kept things exciting by taking us to several of his favorite fishing spots. His expertise really stood out as he adjusted our techniques and moved us around, ensuring we had the best shot at a great catch. By the end of the day, each of us managed to reel in some beautiful salmon, making it an experience we'll never forget. Dale wasn't just knowledgeable—he made sure everyone had fun and stayed engaged the whole time. Whether you're a complete beginner like we were, or someone with more experience, I can’t recommend his charters enough. I'll definitely be booking again once my exams are out of the way!

Great trip
We had a great trip - it was tricky the fish weren't biting, but Capt Dale kept trying hard to find spots. He was super patient and great with Mr 6 who was full of enthusiasm and was over the shop. We were lucky enough to see whales, dolphins and seals too Mr 6 has declared that Capt Dale is his friend and that is already humbugging about when we can go fishing again. Thanks capt Dale!
