Freedom Charters – Muskegon 

Running angling trips out of Allendale Charter Township, Freedom Charters invites you to check out the local fishery in style. Muskegon is the Captain’s home body of water and he has the availability to run weeknight trips.

Come on aboard with Capt. Derek, whose main priority is to get you on some fish. Expect to use techniques like trolling, drift fishing, and jigging, based on the species you’re targeting. Speaking of which, you have the option of 4 to 6-hour trips, where you’ll be fishing for the likes of Walleye, Perch, and Pike, depending on the specific season and the day’s weather.  Fish until the time or limit of fish.

You’ll be fishing from a 21’ Nitro boat with enough room for up to 5 anglers at any single time. The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you’ll need for a productive day on the water.

Capt. Derek is very involved with the West Michigan Walleye Club where he holds the spot as Tournament Director.  Derek finished 1st place in Angler of the Year in 2021 along with the biggest season total weight. In 2023 he finished in 2nd place for Angler of the Year.  Derek continues to do a decent amount of tournaments throughout the year and competes in the Basspro / Cabelas National Team Championship.

You can keep anything you catch, as long as it’s legal to do so. This is a children-friendly charter, so you’re welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure.
