Ford's Guide Service
Book your next trip with Ford's Guide Service and find out what keeps anglers coming back to Mead for more. With Captain Steve at the helm, you'll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Striped Bass, White Bass, and whatever else takes the bait.
On these trips, you can expect to drift and bottom fish using light tackle.
You're welcome to bring home some of the fish you catch, assuming they meet regulations. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that's dinner!
Capt. Steve runs a 24' Bay boat with capacity for 7 passengers. It comes with and all the essentials.
Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, it may be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Trips with Ford's Guide Service are open to the whole family, so bring 'em aboard and get the kids hooked while they're young! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
Don't leave home without sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask.

We had an outstanding experience with our fishing guide Steve Ford and his helper Dayla. From the moment we got on the water, it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. They both were incredibly knowledgeable about the area, the fish patterns, and the best techniques to use, which made a huge difference in our success. Both Steve and Dayla were patient, friendly, and made sure everyone in our group felt comfortable, whether you were experienced or brand new to fishing. They took the time to explain everything, kept our lines in the water, and were always ready to lend a hand when needed. They kept the boat organized, made sure we had everything we needed, and stayed focused on helping us catch fish the entire trip. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do and take pride in giving people a great experience. We ended the day with great memories, lots of fish, and a trip we’ll be talking about for a long time. If you’re looking for a professional, hardworking, and fun fishing crew, I highly recommend booking Steve Ford. We’ll definitely be back!

Thank you Eric!
My husband, daughter, & I hit the water Wednesday morning and this trip did not disappoint! Captain Steve Ford was extremely knowledgeable of the lake and the fish in it. He put us on a ton of fish and was extremely easy to get along with. We absolutely recommend him & will be back on his books soon for another trip!

This guy is amazing! He put us on fish fast and we caught our of Stripers. Then he moved us to a new location, and we killed it on White Bass. Next we went for Small Mouth Bass and nailed it again and eve got a nice blue catfish. He knows the lake like the back of his hand and catches fish! Over the years we have fished at many lakes with many guides, Steve is in first place. We will be fishing with him again and again and again. Great service...Great Price... Thanks Steve!!!

Thank you Gary!
Captain Ford was excellent as was his crew. Was very knowledgeable of the lake and getting us on fish. Genuinely worked to get to know us and spark up conversation throughout the trip. Fishing was good and ended up with 5/5 limits of fish. Highly recommend him and his crew.
Very windy day. He got us on the fish and kept us there, despite fighting the horrible wind. He could have given up due to the wind, but we were one of the last boats out battling the conditions. Our boat also had the most fish at the cleaning station.

Thank you!

I grew up fishing on Lake Texoma and and surrounding areas. At some point decided to share my passion and experience so I opened my guide service. I love helping my clients create lifelong memories on the water.
