These waters are known for Yellowtail Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Scup (Porgy), Grunt, Black Grouper, and more – with any luck, it won’t take long to hook into some.
During the trip, you might be light tackle fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Capt. Gill welcomes children aboard, so get ‘em offline and onto the water! Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
With a focus on near shore and calm water, nobody gets seasick.
You’ll be welcome aboard a 35’ retired military liberty launch with room for everyone. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience.
Your captain will provide rods, reels, and bait.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don’t forget to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Bottled water is included free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

4 Hour Trip – Nearshore Family Trip
Great day!
Capt Rod and Louis were wonderful. We had some rain but Capt got us out of it and back to fishing quickly. We caught lots of fish and they were very much about respecting catch limits and healthy marine ecosystems. They even stayed back and let me make my Gyotaku print of our keeper red grouper. What a blast and a great trip for the price! Thank you!

4 Hour Trip – Nearshore Family Trip
Amazing Trip
Booked a half day group but due to equipment issues with one of the boats. we got upgraded to a semi private with just one other pair. Hammered lane snapper all morning, caught a grouper and some small jacks, and took home a couple pounds of beautiful fillets that we had prepared at Dante’s. We even hooked a few sharks and my son even bagged a barracuda!!! Tash was an amazing guide and host, and was very helpful as our family was not experienced. They put us immediately on fish and we had action almost the whole time. Super fun and well worth it!!! Will definitely be back!

4 Hour Trip – Nearshore Family Trip
Great niche family trip
This is a great trip for a small family that doesn’t want to spend the money for a private charter, but doesn’t want to do a big deep sea party boat. This was deep sea style fishing (drop the line to the bottom, no casting, no trolling) but done just off the island, not far out. We caught a lot of grunts and a few yellow tail. There were 12 customers on the boat. Our party was 4 people (mom and dad with an 8 and 10 year old) and between us we brought in 34 fish. The boat did not feel too crowded with 12 people on board, but it could definitely use a couple of fans for the days where there is no breeze and you are just baking in the sun with drenched clothes and soggy skin from sweating. Captain Cook and Luis were great as well, and gave us a little history of the island. When we got back to the dock Capt Cook gave some great recommendations on where we could take our fish to have it cooked at a restaurant if we wanted. The kids (and adults) loved throwing the fish scraps in the water to feed the tarpon while Luis was cleaning the fish at the end of the trip. We would recommend and go again!

Excellent Experience for All
This was a wonderful charter for all in our group- young and old. The crew was patient with children and quick to assist wherever they were needed. The boat was clean and we had cold water to sip while we fished. They took their time to clean the fish and packed it with ice for the trip home. We will definitely use this charter again!
