Fin Runner Sportfishing Charters
Capt. Brian Morris grew up in a sport fishing, commercial fishing, and world renowned boat building community on the Outer Banks of North Carolina some 51 years ago and has been immersed in that lifestyle and fishing ever since. He has fished all over the world, having cast his line in the east coast of the United States, Alaska, Micronesia, Panama, Baja Mexico, Hawaii, as well as in beautiful Southern California. His best decision in his life was to make a huge effort to fish around the world, learn new fisheries, and explore different cultures. Capt Brian holds a 100 ton USCG captains license.
Your boat for the day is a May-craft built center console that measures a spacious 30 ft and is powered by two Yamaha four stroke 150HP engines. Capt. Brian had the boat built for one thing, and that is fishing. If there’s a big fish on, you can walk all the way around the entire boat to make sure it ends up in the fish box. Top of the line SIMRAD electronics as well as SHIMANO and PENN tackle will ensure that you’re fishing with confidence!
Capt. Brian employs a wide range of fishing methods, including deep sea fishing, fishing with live bait and artificial lures, sight casting, Shark fishing, kite fishing, bottom fishing, sound/ inshore fishing, and spearfishing. He targets a wide range of species.

If you are busy with twenty tabs open reading reviews of all the different charters, hesitant to book with any one or other—let me spare you some time and trouble and just book the Fin Runner with Cpt. Brian. He’s awesome, he’s very attentive and does his damnedest to make sure everyone has a great time. My kids and my mother in law joined me on an offshore trip today and every one of us left with an ear-to-ear smile plastered on our faces. Stop browsing, just book it.

Half Day Trip – Offshore
Spent yesterday offshore fishing on the Fin Runner instead of golfing for this short 3 day trip
Came down here for parent/student orientation at SDSU this weekend, and my son and I decided to fish all day instead of going golfing. Captain Brian was great, and we caught some small fish in the bay, a halibut but too small, some spotted bass, a silky shark, a mackerel, but unfortunately we got skunked when we went out deep trying to catch the big fish. It's too bad that there wasn't even any action, but I've been out before and know it's a crap shoot any time you go out. Brian is knowledgable, friendly, and personable. He felt bad for us, but the fish just weren't biting or were down deep. My son and I had a great time though! Saw a school of dolphins, a seal was toying with us out in deep waters, . Just wish I captured a pic of my son with a prize bluefin or yellowtail, but don't we all want that! Next time we can fit it in, we plan to go out again with him. Thanks for taking us out! -Mike

Captain Brian = Legend! Awesome Trip!!!
Booked a trip with Captain Brian for my 40th birthday, and he absolutely delivered an unforgettable experience for the whole family. I had one goal, catch a halibut, and we nailed it. My wife caught her first halibut too, which was awesome to see. My son had been talking nonstop about wanting to see a shark, and sure enough, we reeled in a leopard shark. That alone made his day. Meanwhile, my daughter was on fire catching bass after bass. Captain Bryan was professional, fun, and knew exactly where to take us. This trip checked every box and then some. Memories for a lifetime,highly recommend!

City Boy Takes Bucket List Trip
Going on a fishing charter has been on my bucket list since I was a kid. My wife and I planned a vacation to Coronado Island, and it was time to check this bucket list item off my list. After doing my research on Fishing Booker, I chose Finn Runner Sport Fishing Charters based on their numerous five-star reviews. The experience did not disappoint! Captain Brian was simply the best. He was incredibly helpful in preparing this city boy for the trip. He advised me on what to wear and, the best medication to prevent sea sickness (thank God it worked). Once on board, we went about 16-miles out, seeing several whales and dolphin along the way. Brian is and incredibly experienced fisherman and a great guy (he shared one of the sandwiches his wife made!). He sensed that this city boy was a little apprehensive about the whole experience, and made sure that I was doing ok the entire trip. After a few hours on the boat, and no luck, I was ready to give up but Brian wasn't. He took us to one last area that he thought was promising. All of a sudden a huge fish hit the line. Brian quickly went into action, like an emergency room doctor! He attached a fishing belt to my waist, handed me the pole, and guided and encouraged me every step of the way. I had never hooked a fish this big and it was a massive struggle to reel it in. After what seemed like eternity, I was able to get the fish close to the boat and Brian helped get it on board. It was a beautiful 50 lb blue fin tuna! I don't know who was more excited, me or Brian! He felt bad that we hadn't caught anything up until this point, and even offered to stay out longer. Unfortunately, I had to get back. I can not say enough great things about Brian and my experience on Finn Runner Sport Fishing Charters. It was this city boys dream come true!

Fantastic fishing experience for our entire family!
We spent the afternoon bay fishing with Captain Brian today and couldn’t have had a better time. This was the first chartered fishing trip that our family of four had ever gone on together. Our younger son had been begging to go on one for a while, and his hopes were high that he’d catch a fish. Over the course of the afternoon, we caught over a dozen spotted bass, several lizardfishes, and four halibuts. Brian did a great job getting us all catches on the trip. One of the halibuts was a real keeper at 29 inches, and was reeled in by my younger son. He was on cloud 9 the rest of the day. Brian was an absolute joy to hang out with and did an amazing job baiting our rods and fixing our tackle lines when they’d get knotted up. He also made sure to bring live anchovies as bait, which the big fish just gobbled up. I couldn’t have hoped for a better fishing trip and will be sure to call Brian the next time we visit San Diego. My son’s already angling for a deep sea fishing expedition whenever that happens.

We spent the afternoon bay fishing with Captain Brian today and couldn’t have had a better time. This was the first chartered fishing trip that our family of four had ever gone on together. Our younger son had been begging to go on one for a while, and his hopes were high that he’d catch a fish. Over the course of the afternoon, we caught over a dozen spotted bass, several lizardfishes, and four halibuts. Brian did a great job getting us all catches on the trip. One of the halibuts was a real keeper at 29 inches, and was reeled in by my younger son. He was on cloud 9 the rest of the day.
