Spend the day with Reel Adventures Sportfishing and find out what fishing in the Detroit River and Lake Erie is all about!
Captain Kevin specializes in catching Walleye. It’s the Walleye capital of the world, after all! For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light tackle. Test your skills at bottom jigging for big Walleye in April and May or trolling on Lake Erie in June and July. When the water gets too warm, the fish go to deeper water but come back in October for great fall fishing. Any Walleye within the legal limit is yours to keep.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. It’s recommended to bring snacks, drinks, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Capt. Kevin welcomes you aboard a 22’ Pontoon that holds up to 6 passengers. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself. Before coming aboard, you may be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
