With Rippin Drag Charters, you can plan to have a great time and plenty of fun! Captain Derek brings years 25 years of fishing expertise, US Coast Guard approved, and is licensed and insured to make sure your fishing adventure is memorable and full of excitement on Michigan's rivers and lakes. Detroit River provides an amazing fishery that provides an opprotunity for Walleye fishing.
Planning a family outing? Kids are absolutely welcome! Just remember, children need to wear life vests, so check with the captain to ensure the right size is on board. And don't forget to pack some snacks for the day!
Your excursion takes place aboard an 2025 Hewescraft Ocean Pro 240, that is powered by a 300 Mercury, perfectly equipped for up to five passengers and stocked with all the essentials. Captain Derek provides rods, reels, lures, and live bait, so you won't need to bring your own.
You will need to purchase a State of Michigan fishing license. Licensing information is available online, or you can ask the captain. Remember to bring along sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses, snacks, and drinks.

This was our first experience with a fishing charter and it could not have been better! Despite the wind that challenged the captain, we had a great time learning how to 'feel' the bottom for jigging and ultimately catching our limit. The crew were attentive and friendly, very willing to let us learn and enjoy the experience but ready to step up and help when direction was needed.
It was also an added benefit that the boat had a sheltered area that we were able to sit in and be protected from the wind and spray as we moved from one area of fishing to another. i would definitely recommend Rippin Drag Charters and Captain Derek for any future fishing trips!

I brought both my son's ages 7 & 9 for walleye fishing on the detroit river. I cant say enough about the experience we had with Rippin Drag. Granted we did catch our limit of walleye but even on a bad day of fishing I would recommend these guys. Great with kids. Top notch guide. Answered any questions I had before hand. Took tons of pictures for us. Thanks again. I hope to do this again sometime soon. Memories were made and will last a lifetime for me and my family.

Great crew, even better communication

great communication from the crew. unlike most charters these guys are straight up and honest. we got forced back to harbor early due to some storms the area. while waiting for the storms to roll over, they managed to still catch us fish from the dock. 10/10 will be booking with again!
