If you're in the market for a day to remember, look no further than Shields Charter Service. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Jason can tell you all about them.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Jack Crevalle, Sheepshead, Redfish, Spanish Mackerel, Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Cobia, Speckled Trout, Gray Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, Blacktip Shark, King Mackerel, and who knows what else!
On the day of your trip, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Feel free to keep any fish you catch, so long as it's legal.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You'll be welcome aboard a 24' Kenner center console with space for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. Capt. Jason has rods and reels for you. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Have in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don't leave home without sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen (non-spray). Bottled water is included, free of charge.

We had a blast. 6 of us fm 9 to 69 years old. We didnt get many keepers because its the wrong time of year. But we all caught a bunch. We even got a 32 in bull red! Too big to keep but what a fight! Capt. Jason is great. He knew where to go and swapped spots when the bite was off.
The only negative is the lack of toilet. Not an issue for the guys. Big issue for me. lol
I would recommend this trip, boat and Capt again. In fact, we plan on another trip in the near future.

Jason is a great guide. He communicates very well, and gave us reasonable expectations. He was early to the dock, and we launched on time. My son, and his friend who are both 10years old had a blast. Jason kept bait on their hooks and put the on the fish. Overall we caught, 1 King Mackeral, 1 Mangrove snapper, and 18 Spanish Mackeral. There were several other fish that we did not keep to include a couple of smaller black tip sharks. He cleaned, and bagged our catch. We had a great dinner at our condo, Thanks to Jason. I'd recommend him to other anglers and to anyone wanting a good day on the water.

Jason was very professional and took care of everything. We had 3 kids with us and they all caught fish. He also clean a few fish for is that we grilled up later that night. Great time out on the water

I have been on a few big charters and our kids have heard my stories, so they wanted to experience their own. The kids, my wife and Nana all had a great time. We caught several fish and a shark! The kids was my main focus and now they can’t wait to go back out. Now they want to go after the big fish. My wife had a blast and is even looking forward for to next charter. I would highly recommend this trip if you are wanted to get your kids interested, or just want to catch some fish! Thank you Captain Jason for great experience and memories!
