Ready for Walleye season? For this species, you’re likely to troll. The captain will do his best to help you catch your limit of Walleye. The catch will be shared with the crew and charter guests.

You’ll step aboard a 30’ Cruiser with space for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials, plus a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. You’ll need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.

Capt. James welcomes children aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. A few items to bring include snacks, lunch, drinks, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

    The trip usually starts 1/2 hour before sunrise, anywhere from 5 to 7 a.m., depending on the time of year. Or we can leave whenever the client wants to. Usually, the earlier, the better. We can also do afternoon trips. Don't forget to pack your valid fishing license, snacks, lunch, and drinks. Bring a cooler to take home your catch! Seasonal trip.

I started fishing at Lake Erie in 1978 on the western end of the lake (Port Clinton area). At that time, I had a 21' boat and took friends out every weekend to fish for Walleye and Perch. I left Port Clinton in 1985 and headed to Conneaut, Ohio. In 2004, I bought a 28' Baha boat and continued fun fishing. In 2010, I bought my 30' Cherokee boat and, shortly after, obtained my captain's license and started my charter business. Now I am having fun every day chasing Walleye on beautiful Lake Erie!
