There's a fish with your name on it in Cody and WY Reel Action Fishing will help you catch it! With Captain Eric at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands. Eric is a certified USCG Merchant Mariner credentialed Captain. He is also current in First Aid and CPR.
Around here the fishing is popular for Cutthroat Trout, Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and more if conditions allow. During the trip, you might be light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
You're welcome to keep some of the fish you catch, so long as it's legal. Capt. Eric can even clean your catch for you. Your next meal doesn't get any fresher than that!
Capt. Eric welcomes children aboard, so feel free to make a family day out of it! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board.
Your boat for the day is a 21' Hewescraft aluminum fishing craft with room for 4 passengers. It comes with downriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, bait and tackle are provided, as well as lures.
Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials you'll want to bring are sunglasses, rain gear, and sunblock (non-spray). Water is included, free of charge. There will be some light snacks for you on board.

He was super knowledgable about all of the fishing, the equipment, and the fish…..basically everything. We caught an incredible amount of trout, including a massive Cut-throat trout and a very large rainbow, that he cleaned for us. We will definitely be back again, and he is highly recommended.

Half Day Trip – Powerboat Fishing on June 12, 2026 • 2 adultsWe met the Captain Eric at 7AM and left the docks immediately after a Safety Overview. We used four poles while trolling. I lost the exact count of fish that we caught but more than 12 in four hours. Captain fillet two of our fish and we ate them for dinner that night and they were tasty. We had a great time and my wife caught her first fish ever.

Kept four— which captain Eric cleaned for us— and released the rest. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. The boat itself is great as is the equipment. Full Day Trip – Powerboat Fishing on May 4, 2026 • 5 adults • 1 childWe all caught our limit and there was 5 of us. Mostly brown trout, a bunch of rainbows and even a few lake trout. A few over 20 inches, with the biggest brown almost 22 inches. This was a family trip and was the best charter we have ever been on hands down!!!

Full Day Trip – Powerboat Fishing on July 14, 2024 • 2 adultsWe had a terrific day fishing for cutthroat and splake with Reel Action Fishing. Our captain, Eric, met us with his boat and all fishing gear for a day on the lake. He also provided cold water and delicious snacks. Best of all, he’s an expert fishing guide. He set the lines up perfectly to catch amazing splake and cutthroat. We reeled them in! At one point we were fighting two fish at once and we’d just caught two others, so Captain Eric was scrambling to net our fish and get the lines back out in the lake. We had so much fun! Before the end of the day, we caught our limit. Captain Eric expertly processed and filleted our fish, and we returned home with a load of delicious trout. What a great experience. I highly recommend Reel Action Fishing.
