You're likely to fish for Bluefin Tuna, Trophy Door Mat Fluke, Cod, Haddock, Striped Bass, Bluefish, Flounder, Black Seabass, Scup (Porgy), and more if conditions are right.
You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
You'll be welcome aboard a 34' SeaVee center console with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. Capt. Chris has rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and offering them a 10–20% tip is customary.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't leave home without sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

There boat and equipment were top notch and they were ready to go at the launch when we got there. Cpt Chris and his pops Peter were awesome, great hanging out with them for the day. We were fishing stripers and the had us on the bite first cast. We hit limits within the hour and never went more than a few minutes without a catch. Was very impressed how good these guys were getting on the bite. Definitely our go to guys in cape cod. You won’t be disappointed going on the meat wagon!

5 Hour – Striped Bass/Bluefish (AM) on July 24, 2024 • 3 adults50 plus Fish!! My 3 teenage children and I booked The Meat Wagon with little experience or knowledge of Cape Cod in general. Captain Chris quickly got us our Striper limit and we continued to fish for hours hauling in huge fish for pictures and release. Chris and his mate/father were professional yet extremely nice and accommodating to my kids. Instructing without judging. These guys are safety conscious and fun. Would highly recommend for a guys trip of anglers or inexperienced families. My family had the trip of a lifetime.

Chris was a gracious host and excellent Capt., the boat was spotless, fast, smooth and clean and the gear was top notch even though we brought our own. My wife beat the fluke down with 4 between 24"-27" and even though we didn't find any monsters she got her personal best. We had rods bent all day with jumbo sea bass too so it was still a great trip even though the legendary shoals fluke weren't cooperating. Highly recommended!

We were a group of more novice anglers but the crew made us feel incredibly welcome and took care of all of us. Sadly we did not catch striped bass as we had planned but they made the day wonderful nonetheless. They took their time to teach us about the fish we were catching and made everyone feel involved and engaged. Even some of us who had never held a rod before felt more like a fisher at the end of our trip. We were able to get some fish home and have them for dinner. We plan on booking again.

Born and raised on Cape Cod, Captain Chris James has been fishing the waters off Cape Cod since he could hold a fishing rod. His love of the ocean and passion for the challenge of catching fish gave way to a life on the water, and eventually, to Meat Wagon Fishing Charters. Captain Chris has over 30 years of experience including both commercial and recreational fishing. He holds a United States Coast Guard Master Captain's License and has the necessary knowledge and expertise for fishing Massachusetts waters. When chartering with Meat Wagon, Captain Chris strives to share his passion for the ocean and its fish with every individual or group that comes aboard by providing a fun, safe, and successful experience with life-long memories made.
