If you’re ready to go fishing in Key Largo, we’ve got you covered with Off–Ice Charters.

Catch Snook, Tarpon, Mangrove Snapper, Goliath Grouper, Blacktip Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Hammerhead Shark, Nurse Shark, Redfish, and more are in the cards if conditions are right. You can expect to do some spinning or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. AUSTIN also offers fly fishing on the flats or backcountry.

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!

You’ll be dropping lines from a 19’ Skiff with space for 3 passengers. It comes with everything else you need for a productive day on the water. Capt. AUSTIN will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.

Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.

A few items to bring include bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
You will need to provide your own flordia fishing license.

Half Day Trip (AM) key largo on March 16, 2025 • 3 adults

We had an amazing time on our fishing trip in the Keys with Austin! We were hoping to hook a tarpon, and while we managed to get one on the line, we weren’t able to bring it to the boat — but that didn’t take away from the experience one bit. We caught some trout and bait fish, and Austin knew exactly where to go and shared tons of fishing tips with our son, which made the trip even more special. The ride through the mangroves was absolutely beautiful, and the weather couldn’t have been better. One thing that really stood out to us was how thoughtful Austin was — he even texted us earlier in the day to recommend a better time than what we originally booked, ensuring we had the best chance at a successful trip. That kind of honesty and consideration is hard to find, and it made all the difference. Austin is a great captain, and we can’t recommend him enough if you’re looking for a fun, knowledgeable, and all-around fantastic fishing guide.

Full day trip and 5 species with Captain Austin

Full Day Trip key largo on March 6, 2025

I'm from PA and decided to do a snow bird trip to Key Largo. Never fished there before and was excited to try the Florida Keys back country. Despite it being so windy during the day, Austin put us on jack, barracuda, snapper, and snook. At night we went for tarpon....WOW! I had 2 hookups, one was an absolute giant, what an experience. Austin was so knowledgeable and was able to switch his game plan based on weather and customer preferences. Definitely book with Off Ice Charters!

Great day in the backcountry

Half Day Trip (AM) key largo on April 2, 2025 • 2 adults

Captain Austin did his job today. We did the 8:30am trip. He was patient and knew where to go to put us on fish. It was windy today, but he got us into some spots where we could easily fish. One spot was full of manatees, who stayed by the boat and visited with us. He is a very engaging young man with a clean flats boat. Highly recommend a trip for snapper, snook, grouper, jacks, you name it.

Amazing Trip!

Captain Austin was absolutely phenomenal. The day started out with inclement weather but we trucked through and it turned out to be a beautiful day with incredible fishing thanks to our expert guide. The boat and gear were solid and we caught so many fish we lost count. A superb day for me and my son and I could not be more grateful.

Great time with Austin

Took my 2 young boys on a morning trip with Austin. It was all our first experience out saltwater fishing. Austin took us to three locations and we caught a bunch of fish in two of them. He was quick to move on from the one location as soon as he knew we were not getting many bites. We really enjoyed our time.
