Top targets include Tripletail, Red Snapper, Gag Grouper, Redfish, Tarpon, Cobia, Flounder, Black Drum, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Blacktip Shark, Pompano, Spotted Seatrout, and more if conditions allow.
During the trip, you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Donny can also take you Flounder gigging. For the more adventurous among you, there's bowfishing.
Coast Runner Outfitters is a kid-friendly charter service, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
You'll find yourself aboard a 23' Epic bay boat with space for 6 passengers. It has downriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
