Sea Monkey Charters welcomes you to the stunning waters of Islamorada.
These waters are known for Permit, Swordfish, Tripletail, Tilefish, Mutton Snapper, Cobia, Black Grouper, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Tarpon, Blackfin Tuna, and more – with any luck, it won’t be long before "Fish on!" You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Your boat for the day is a 30’ Center console that holds up to 5 passengers. It has outriggers and all the essentials. Capt. Casey will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that’s dinner!
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips, and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip. Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It’s never a bad idea to bring snacks, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
