Captain John operates fishing trips from Cedar Point and Morehead City aboard a 26' Pathfinder or 27' Onslow Bay. With over 20 years of fishing experience on the Crystal Coast and professional experience spanning the entire East Coast, Captain John is well-equipped to target a wide variety of fish.
Beginning his career as a mate, he eventually pursued higher education, earning an MBA in 2022. After a year of contemplation about his career path, he decided to follow his passion and become a captain. Since then, he has been leading his Fishing Charters and captaining numerous other boats.
Captain John operates a 26'2" Pathfinder HPS boat for the inshore waters. With a center console layout, it offers space and comfort, accommodating up to 6 clients. Captain John's expertise, guarantees a successful and enjoyable outing on the Crystal Coast.
You'll target your catch by spinning, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Rods, reels, and tackle are supplied, along with lures. You may bring your own rod and reel if you want. Capt. John also allows fly fishing (client's request), but you will need to bring your own fly gear. Capt. John thrives off the enjoyment of providing his clients with lifelong memories.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome!
You'll have the help of a First Mate. A minimum 20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

Great evening on the water!

John and Martin were excellent! Even though it was windy, they were able to put us on some fish. They stayed out a little longer than our booked time so that we would get into some action. The sunset was amazing. We saw manatee and dolphin We couldn’t have asked for a better time out on the water. We’re coming back in October.!

What an Awesome fishing trip!

When it comes to fishing, anyone can have a boat and some fishing rods! But Captain John is one of the best! Not only does he have the equipment, but his knowledge of how to fish and where all the secret spots are is phenomenal! What makes it Even better is his personality, very friendly and polite always wanting his customer to have the best trip possible! Believe me, I’ve been on some charters that I wish I had never booked but with captain John it’s always a great time!

Capt John was personable and very knowledgeable when it came to anything and everything on the water. We caught several Cobia and then Amberjack until our arms couldn’t take any more. In the event a line snapped, Capt John had another one tied up for us almost immediately. 10/10 recommend/would book again!!!
