Freebird Charters welcomes you to the stunning waters of Wilmington. Captain Tommy will be your guide, giving you access to years of angling experience.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Mahi Mahi, Grunt, Red Grouper, Snowy Grouper, Gag Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Little Tunny, Black Seabass, Vermilion Snapper, Red Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, and whatever else is biting. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Tommy also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board.
Your adventure begins aboard a 23' Pro-Line Center console with a capacity for 4 passengers. It has downriggers and all the essentials. Capt. Tommy has rods and reels for you, along with lures.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. It's never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on board.

Had a wonderful time fishing and catching with Captain Tommy. I felt safe the entire time, great conversation and exciting action. Can’t wait to cook up and eat the different fish we brought home. Overall great experience for my first off shore trip! Hope to get back out there soon!

Capt, Tommy Prince provided an outstanding experience fishing for Wahoo out of Wilmington, NC. We caught two large Wahoo that day and finished the day doing some Slow Pitch jigging and caught several fish. I unreservedly recommend Freebird Charters...
