Around here, fishing is popular for Kingfish, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Blacktip Shark, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Red Snapper, and more if conditions are right. On these trips, you can expect to drift and bottom fish using light tackle. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that’s dinner!
Lil Red is a 24’ Kenner bay boat. It is a 1998 hull redone in the spring of 2023. This boat provides fishing opportunities to those who want to stay closer to shore and use light tackle to catch a variety of fish. Lil Red has a capacity for 4 passengers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. A few items to bring include snacks, drinks, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation. Avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.
Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself. Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

Wonderful trip overall. Captain started trip off with great communication letting us know he had a cancellation and had flexibility with starting trip earlier. Captain got us on fish, and ensured all four anglers got on fish. Captain was friendly and was genuinely pleased to hear that we were having a great experience. Overall, highly recommend.

4 Hour Trip – Nearshore (AM) on July 31, 2025
We had an INCREDIBLE trip with Captain Jake. We limited out on trophy trout in less than an hour! Jake is awesome with kids and a hoot to fish with. If you want to take kids the inshore trip with Captain Jake is perfect. What an absolute blast!!! We will be back.

4 Hour Trip – Nearshore (AM) on May 30, 2025
Captain Jerry was amazing! This was our first time saltwater fishing & Captain Jerry put us on fish immediately! He taught us how to catch, kept our hooks baited & our fish in the cooler! He is also very personable & knowledgeable about the area. When we returned to the dock, he quickly cleaned our haul & we enjoyed eating our catch that night! We cannot wait to book with Red Eye & Captain Jerry again!

My 9 year old son wanted to go ocean fishing while on Spring Break in gulf Shores. I found Red Eye Charters when searching online and it was a great experience. We did the near shore experience and will definitely be back for one of the longer trips and bigger fish. Captain Jerry was a great guide and we learned a lot about the Gulf, natural gas rugs in the water, the fish, etc. If you're thinking about booking a trip, do it!

Fished the 4 hour morning trip. It was a rainy Monday morning and he did his best to put us on fish. We hooked and landed some big fish, highlighted with all the Reds being over the slot limit. Definitely will use him again.
