Our group was a party 3, we left the marina at 6:30am, in 1-2’ seas. It was a great morning for fishing; the weather was much better than forecast. Capt John was all about fishing and took us straight to the one spot we needed to go to. Initally we had several Sheapshead come off the line but once we figured it out, it was catching not fishing. The boat he captins is smaller but was the right size for what we were trying to accomplish. Capt John was informative and did a great job teaching my (2) 13 year old sons the correct technique.  He was there to make sure we caught fidh and had a good time. He didnt continually look at his phone or move from location to location. We ended up catching 8 nice Sheapshead. When we got back to marina, there was a gentleman who came up to Capt John as he was unloading the fish we caught. Capt John wasnt rude but he didn’t let him interpret the conclusion of our trip. I was impressed when Capt John asked him to wait eventhough the guy who walked up was requesting to be taken out later in the day. It meant a lot he prioritized our trip over jumping to the next customer. I would recommend this trip to others and would do it again myself.

We went out early morning, our first spot we quickly left and found another where it started slow but picked up fast and over the course of about 1.5 hours we caught about a dozen sheepshead between 2 people. The captain was great everything was tended to. Nice equipment. On the way in we stopped and found some red fish and he made sure we both caught one before we came in. When cleaning the fish he took his time and got all the meat possible and we left with a ton of meat.

Capt. John was awesome!  It was a windy morning, and most guides would have canceled.  However, Capt. John knew this was our only day to fish and worked his tail off fighting the wind and waves to keep us on fish.  A first for my son and I to fish the gulf, and although big wind and waves we had an absolute blast.  Thanks to Capt. John and the Lil Red for giving us a great day regardless of what Mother Nature served up.

It was a good trip clean boat with nice equipment each one of us hooked 1 and John put us on them it was up to us on catching them as we fed more than we hooked but for a first time family fishing trip to come back with 5 nice sheepheads it was a nice experience John spent much of the time rebating and casting for us to give us the best experience a 2 hr trip can have

If you have never done a charter before or haven’t don’t one in a while, Capt. John is the best. He taught us so much about offshore fishing and very hands on. 10/10 experience and we will definitely rebook another trip.
