There's a fish with your name on it in Melbourne Beach, and Southern Thunder Charters will help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Bryan knows them forwards and back.

Around here, it's common to catch Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Kingfish, Sailfish, Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Gray Triggerfish, African Pompano Jack, Grouper, and more if conditions are right. During the trip, you might be trolling or bottom fishing. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that's dinner!

You'll be casting lines from a 31' SeaVee with a capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Bryan will provide rods and reels for you. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself. The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time!

Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available. Some essentials to bring are snacks, drinks, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid hard liquor and glass bottles. Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

Bryan is the best

Half Day Trip – Offshore on May 27, 2026 • 5 adults

Our day with Bryan was fantastic.  We booked a half day offshore and changed the day before because of the weather and he was very flexible changing it to inshore. 

In the morning, the fish weren’t really biting (caught a few mangrove snapper and a pompano) including the snook.  We tried so hard we worked up an appetite so he took us to lunch at one of his favorite spots, just to get a break.  We had only booked a 1/2 day but he wanted us to catch some snook so we tried again after lunch. The snook were not cooperating with our plans and we got skunked. 

He went above and beyond trying to put us on fish, which he did because we could see them, but they weren’t biting. Thats why they call it fishing and not catching. 

Bryan was great with my 2 daughters, wife and son in law. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Best fishing trip ever

Full Day Trip – Offshore on July 31, 2024 • 3 adults • 2 children

We have all been on many fishing trips and this was the very best one ever. Captain Brian & his 1st Mate Tommy were super accommodating and tuned into what a client really is hoping for. We all felt like guests of honor, and every need was met, and man-o-man did we all catch fish !!

Full Day Trip – Offshore on August 12, 2024 • 4 adults

Bryan was brilliant, he knew all of the best spots and we caught plenty of big fish and went away with over 100lb of fish, which wasn’t at all bad for a bunch of amateurs. Would definitely recommend!
