Tide to Field 

Planning your shore fishing trip in Monterey just got easier, thanks to Tide to Field.

Here you won't be far from inshore waters, including some spots that only the locals know about. The name of the game around here is light tackle fishing, which is what you'll be doing on the day of your trip. You may also jig for your catch. Lauren will provide rods and reels, as well as lures and live bait.

Striped Bass, Surf Perch, Halibut, Rockfish, and more can be found in these waters if you cast your line at the right time of year. Lauren can take groups as large as 5 on this guided experience. You'll be fishing without a boat, so expect to make your way on foot and come dressed for current weather conditions.

Everyone in your group should buy a local fishing license ahead of time. You can find out more online, including exceptions that may apply. Plan to dress in layers and appropriate footwear (if you aren't sure what that means, just ask). It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and bottled water in a backpack.
