PR Tarpon Masters Fishing Charters is here to show you the stunning waters of San Juan. With Captain Francisco Prieto at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.

Capt. Francisco specializes in catching Tarpon, but many other exciting species inhabit these waters, such as Tarpons,Barracuda, Mahi Mahi, Snapper, and more, depending on the time of the year. On these trips, it's common to troll using live bait, drift fishing, anchor fishing with dead bait, and other techniques. Capt. Francisco also offers fly fishing and will include the gear. Tarpon is strictly catch-and-release.

Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available. It's always wise to bring snacks, sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation. Just be sure to avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

Capt. Francisco operates a 20' Sportsman bay boat with a capacity for 4-6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself. There's no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip!

Sometimes there will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary. Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

What a day!
4 Hour Trip (AM) on December 30, 20253 adults

Even though we didn't catch fish, the Capt was helpful, funny, and provided a great trip. We saw a bunch of iguanas and a cayman!

No fish, no regrets
6 Hour Trip on February 16, 20262 adults

Post rainstorm, the water was muddy, and the fishing was hard. We caught no fish, but learned his methods and we were able to catch tarpon the next day using his methods!

5:30 pm trip
4 Hour Trip (PM) on July 15, 2024

An experience my cousin and I will never forget here in Puerto Rico! My Cousin and I went out with Captain Francisco at 5:30 pm and got only a bite within the first 2 hours. Then the sun set and FISH ON! I caught a 60-70 pound tarpon that fought for 45 minutes and Francisco told me everything I needed to do to get the fish in the boat and we did! Then my cousin caught another good size tarpon! It is the biggest fish I've caught to this day and I am forever grateful we took this opportunity. The backwaters were also beautiful with the sunset. His boat was spotless! We will be back!! Thank you Captain! The host was very helpful with directions and payment!

Great Fishig Trip!
4 Hour Trip (8AM) on August 7, 20244 adults

Francisco was very knowledgeable and worked hard finding a spot were fish were biting. Our family ended up catching four good size Tarpoon, two around forty pounds. Not bad for a slow and hot August day. Francisco seemed as excited as us when a fish was caught! He was also very friendly and approachable. Best of all, Francisco had cold drinks included! A great idea and much appreciated on this very hot day!
