Fishing around here will often see you targeting Yellowtail, Yellowfin Tuna, Cubera Snapper, Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Roosterfish, Seabass, and more if conditions are right. On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. The captain will clean your catch, so you can take it home or to your favorite restaurant and enjoy it.
You'll step aboard 'La Chona,' a 22' center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, as well as lures. Live bait will be purchased on the day of the trip for an additional cost.
You might need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor and glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks provided on board.

We set off promptly at 6 AM. Found a pod of dolphins on the way out to the fishing grounds. Enjoyed a wonderful slow boat ride through a frolicking pod of dolphins. They were everywhere. Started fishing and the real fun began. We quickly caught a yellowtail, followed by more. We even caught two spotted groupers. They make amazing ceviche. At the end of the day we had 5 yellowtail and 2 groupers. Enjoyed a few great meals and are taking home about 45 pounds of fish. I'll definitely fish with them again and highly recommend! Great folks. Poncho is awesome as well as our captain.
BAJA MIA WENT THE EXTRA MILE TO ENSURE WE HAD AN EXCITNG AND MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE. LA CHONA AND CAPTAIN ANTHONY WAS PERFECT FOR ME AND MY WIFE.
Pancho and our Captain 👩✈️ Antonio were amazing. Fishing was tough, but we caught our share. Highly recommended, especially if you stay at their BYBOs. Thank you for a memorable trip
Great Outfit, good communication, top notch. We fish Baja a few times a year, and we will definitely be coming back to fish with Baja Mia again.
Three days of fishing being treated like a king and incredible results. Taking home 100 lbs of yellowtail. We will be back.
