Around here it’s common to catch Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Gag Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Red Grouper, Blackfin Tuna, Red Snapper, Cobia, Blacktip Shark, Sailfish, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Wahoo, and more if conditions are right. On the day of your trip, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Blake also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.

Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!  You’ll be casting lines from a 26’ Sea Hunt center console with space for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation. There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Have in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

Don’t leave home without sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
