Hoping to catch some fish on the Kenai River? Then Nate Sims Fishing has a trip with your name on it! With Captain Nathaniel at the helm, you’ll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
These waters are known for Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Dolly Varden, Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Grayling, Pink Salmon, and more – with any luck, it won’t take long to hook into some. Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, drifting, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Nathaniel also offers fly fishing.
Capt. Nathaniel welcomes anglers of all ages, including kids, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 21’ Willie Predator River sled that holds up to 5 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with lures.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring include bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
How often would you rather be fishing? Go on and turn that daydream into a reality, with Nate Sims Fishing.
