Fin Chaser Sportfishing – 37ft “Just Right
If you plan on fishing in Cabo San Lucas, look no further than Fin Chaser Sportfishing! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Jose can tell you all about the local fishery.
Some of the species you can catch around here include Amberjack, California Sheephead, Mahi Mahi, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Roosterfish, Sailfish, Sierra Mackerel, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Yellowtail Amberjack, and more with any luck. During the trip you might be trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Your trip begins aboard a 37' Bertram that holds up to 8 passengers. It has outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience, with a freshwater system and even a shower. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Crews work hard for tips. A 20–25% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Trips with Fin Chaser Sportfishing are open to the whole family, so feel free to make a family day out of it! You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or they can buy them for you ahead of time. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's always wise to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Drinks and snacks are included, free of charge in inclusive packages. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid too much hard liquor as well as glass bottles if possible. You can keep some of the fish you catch and bring them home or have them cooked for you at nearby restaurants or your resort.

Had a great trip with Jose and crew. We were a family of seven going deep sea fishing, and we were excited to get on the Pacific for the first time and see what we would catch. The highlight was definitely the sailfish we caught on our way back to the marina! The crew was excellent about rotating lines among the family when we had multiple fish bite at once. Francisco was great about walking us down the marina to a restaurant that would cook the tuna we caught, and taking us to a business that would cut, freeze, and pack up our tuna to take home. Would definitely book with this crew again!
A lifetime experience with the captain & crew. I've been here to Cabo 3X on different boats, and this was the best experience & results. More fish (Wahoo, Marlin & Dorado) in our half day vs prior 2 full day fishing trips. The freshly prepared Sashimi put it over the top. Excellent 1st time experience for my wife, son & daughter in law.
Jose and Glen put us on Marlin and gave us a great fishing experience
This was a great experience from the booking to the day of departure! Jose and Ramon did everything right and tried their hardest to get all the hook ups we could, we caught Bonita/skipjack, mahi-mahi, meddle fish (baby Marlin as Roman says) with the highlight being a nice striped Marlin. We had a Marlin plying with us by the boat but never would take the bait. This was exciting to see and watch how José and Roman worked together to get the fish to bite, I will definitely book with them next trip. As you all know communication is something of importance and leading up to the day of our outing we got reports on the prior fishing days, questions on what we would like on board etc Give them a try and you won't be sorry
Family enjoyed catching Mahi Mahi and striped Marlin. Great day!
