Calabash Fishing Fleet – Cyclone

4.5/5 (51 reviews)
9945 Nance Street, Calabash, NC 28467, United States

Make some memories in Calabash and go fishing with Calabash Fishing Fleet aboard the "Cyclone."

Depending on the excursion, you might hook into Amberjack, Almaco Jack, Wahoo, Vermilion Snapper, Blacktip Shark, Gray Triggerfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Grunt, Gag Grouper, Black Seabass, Cobia, Red Snapper, and who knows what else! On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep.

Your boat for the day is "Cyclone," a 45’ Key West that can carry up to 42 passengers. This is a complete walkaround fishing vessel! Super spacious with inside and outside seating, this unique fishing vessel is equipped with the latest navigation and fishing equipment and can be utilized for chartered sport fishing as well as large group bottom fishing excursions. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips, and it’s customary to offer them a 15-20% tip.  You will not need a fishing license while aboard this fleet as each vessel is licensed fully for every passenger!  This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are welcome! You can’t go wrong when you bring snacks, drinks, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

Now’s the time to experience fishing in Calabash for yourself with Calabash Fishing Fleet!

3/4 Day Trip on March 22, 2025

We had a great time and caught a bunch of fish considering the conditions were pretty bad on the water. Weather was a bit cold and water was very rough but that was to be expected for this time of the year. Captain Jason and first mate Darryl were great. Jason was pretty up front about the fact that the conditions were going to be bad but we would see what we could do. We stayed optimistic and within no time they put us on the fish. Lots of action and got some keepers. Darryl was super friendly and easy to get along with. He also did a great job at fixing all our bird nests and keeping us baited up. I would definitely recommend going fishing with them on the Cyclone. Pro tip - take your Dramamine the night before and the morning of.

Went out on a morning trip and had a great time! Came back with a bunch of sharks and a few other fish. Kids and adults all pulled up 10+ fish each, many were not keepers, but they had a blast!! Hats off to Captain Dave and Captian Alex. We were out on the Miss Calabash
