Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, White Bass, Common Bream, Catfish, Crappie, Flathead, Hybrid Striped Bass, Yellow Perch, and who knows what else! You’ll target your catch by spinning, trolling, jigging, and bottom fishing. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Catch cleaning is available for an additional fee.
You’ll be welcome aboard a 20’ Pontoon with a capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you’ll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Lake Conroe Fishing Guide is a child-friendly charter service, so get ‘em offline and onto the water! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. It’s never a bad idea to bring snacks, drinks, sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses. Alcohol is not allowed.

We recently had the incredible pleasure of going on a fishing trip with Captain Ray, and I can confidently say it was an experience our family will never forget. What made it truly special wasn’t just the fishing itself—it was the way Ray went above and beyond to accommodate not only my father but also my 7-year-old son, who was on his very first fishing trip. From the moment we stepped aboard, Ray made sure my son felt like he was the captain. He adjusted the pace, explained things in a fun and simple way, and made my son feel important and included in every part of the day. Watching my son light up with confidence and excitement was unforgettable—and I know he’ll remember this for the rest of his life. Ray also showed incredible kindness and patience with my father, ensuring he was comfortable and able to enjoy the day fully. And one of the most meaningful moments of the entire trip came when Ray captured a photo of the three of us—three generations together, side by side on the water. That photo alone is priceless to us and wouldn’t have happened without Captain Ray’s thoughtfulness. One Amazing Fishing Guide!
Half Day Trip on September 16, 2024
Ray knows Lake Conroe like the back of his hand! He moved us from spot to spot until we sat on top of a school of perch where we added 25 keepers to his wet well. But most important was the relationship Ray established with each of our team, patiently listening to and accommodating each of us regarding our preferences and experience as fishermen. All the members of our team had a fantastic day on the water with Ray. Although all 4 of us brought our own rods and tackle, by the end of the day I was having the best luck using Ray’s. He had everything anyone would ever need. Anyone could just show up at the marina and board Ray’s boat and have everything you need to catch a mess of fish! We are all hooking up with Ray again soon!

We had the best time with Captain Ray. Such a nice guy and very knowledgeable when it comes to fishing. Loved his pontoon. Very roomy and the canopy keeps the hot sun off of you. He has awesome Live Scopes and that was a new way of fishing for us. We really enjoyed that and caught a good mess of Catfish. Our fish fry Saturday night was delicious. Thanks for a great time Captain. Till next time ……

Ray Hunt is the best

First off we had fun. Ray made us as comfortable as we could be on his beautiful comfortable pontoon boat. He is a very pleasant person to visit with so had very enjoyable conversations and he put us on fish. He had some very fancy fish tracking equipment and showed us how it worked and shared great fishing knowledge. He was Very helpful for every part of the trip and definitely will be calling on him again.
