Pura Vida Charters invites you aboard for some of Florida's most exciting fishing! Choose from a variety of offshore fishing excursions on the Gulf of Mexico and reel in your own big catch. Captain Greg Macfarlane has been fishing these waters all his life, so he'll put you on the fish in no time.

Step aboard his 32' Sabalo Downeast boat, powered by a 370 HP Cummins engine. This craft comes equipped with a Furuno FCV-585 Fishfinder, GPS, VHF radio, radar, and sonar.

But it isn't just prepared for fishing, it's also designed for your comfort! Up to 6 anglers can enjoy a 15' fishing deck with comfortable seating, a private toilet, and a bed. A large icebox with plenty of ice is ready for your food, drinks, and fish.

Capt. Greg specializes in live bait fishing, he runs a variety of offshore fishing trips. Join him and fish for species such as Grouper, Snapper, Amberjack, King Mackerel, and Tuna, depending on the season and conditions on the day.

Pura Vida Charters supplies rods, reels and tackle, live bait, fishing licenses, and full insurance. Capt. Greg prefers to release any game fish that are not very tasty, such as Shark, but any edible fish can be kept by the client. He is happy to clean and fillet your catch, and highly recommends taking it to a local restaurant after your trip, where it can be prepared for you!

Captain Greg was very understandable with us, and let us make changes to the trip even with the morning of the trip. We increased it to the full day trip and he was perfectly okay with it. Captain Greg is a very kind and reasonable person who is very experienced in his field. We caught many fish, moved from spot to spot quick if there weren’t big bites, and the filets were wonderfully cut after. The first mate Aiden was also beyond helpful with helping us with bait, removal of fish caught, and entanglements we faced. Everyone ensured we had the best experience possible. I highly recommend Captain Greg for any journey you wish to partake in, and know you are in good hands.

Incredible family fishing trip

Captain Greg and Aiden were extremely knowledgeable and helpful to everyone of us. As we were novices and they offered helpful tips and went above and beyond to ensure everyone caught a fish. We were very pleased with the quantity of fish we caught and upon our return to dock the fish were filleted and returned to us. I look forward to booking another charter with Pura Veda.

The best charter I’ve ever been on

Capt Greg was awesome. Put us on the fish immediately and the heat never stopped. Phil and his first mate Logan are fantastic. Would reccommend this trip to anyone. We hit limit with fish and caught some absolute monsters. I’ve been on 10 charters in my life and going forward will be tough to use anyone else. The best Forsure don’t even looks anywhere else

Fishing with Greg

Full Day Trip – Extended on July 15, 2025 • 3 adults • 2 children

Captain Greg was great. He had a 6 hour window in between storms and didn’t give up on our experience. We caught our limit and made it back before the storm. He put us on a great haul of red grouper. The deck hand was also great. 5 anglers and we never had to touch a fish or bait a hook. I will be booking with Greg every year. Boat was amazing. We had shade the whole time. My 12 year old nephew was very well taken care of by the crew. We went out 40 plus miles with zero issues.

Great morning of fishing

We took a 4 hour trip with captain Greg and First mate Aiden. Captain put us on some nice "honey holes" that resulted in some good fishing.
