Pura Vida Charters invites you aboard for some of Florida’s most exciting fishing! Choose from a variety of offshore fishing excursions on the Gulf of Mexico and reel in your own big catch. Captain Greg Macfarlane has been fishing these waters all his life, so he’ll put you on the fish in no time.
Step aboard his 32’ Sabalo Downeast boat, powered by a 370 HP Cummins engine. This craft comes equipped with a Furuno FCV-585 Fishfinder, GPS, VHF radio, radar, and sonar.
But it isn’t just prepared for fishing, it’s also designed for your comfort! Up to 6 anglers can enjoy a 15’ fishing deck with comfortable seating, a private toilet, and a bed. A large icebox with plenty of ice is ready for your food, drinks, and fish.
Capt. Greg specializes in live bait fishing, he runs a variety of offshore fishing trips. Join him and fish for species such as Grouper, Snapper, Amberjack, King Mackerel, and Tuna, depending on the season and conditions on the day.
Pura Vida Charters supplies rods, reels and tackle, live bait, fishing licenses, and full insurance. Capt. Greg prefers to release any game fish that are not very tasty, such as Shark, but any edible fish can be kept by the client. He is happy to clean and fillet your catch, and highly recommends taking it to a local restaurant after your trip, where it can be prepared for you!

Full Day Trip – Extended
Could not ask for any better!
I would recommend Cap. Greg and his charter to anyone who asked. Very very straight forward and gets to the point about everything. What he said we were going to do was what we did and did not veer off from the plan. Very organized and very thought out and put us on the first right now. As it was my first time out deep sea fishing I would not recommend anyone better. We had a great time and look forward to booking more charters with him!

Captain Greg was very understandable with us, and let us make changes to the trip even with the morning of the trip. We increased it to the full day trip and he was perfectly okay with it. Captain Greg is a very kind and reasonable person who is very experienced in his field. We caught many fish, moved from spot to spot quick if there weren’t big bites, and the filets were wonderfully cut after. The first mate Aiden was also beyond helpful with helping us with bait, removal of fish caught, and entanglements we faced. Everyone ensured we had the best experience possible. I highly recommend Captain Greg for any journey you wish to partake in, and know you are in good hands.

Great experience
All 6 of us had a great time catching fish, it seemed like one after another. Captain Greg and First Mate Aiden were awesome in taking fish off your hook and putting bait back on to get you right back to fishing! Full Day Trip – Extended
Fishing with Greg
Captain Greg was great. He had a 6 hour window in between storms and didn’t give up on our experience. We caught our limit and made it back before the storm. He put us on a great haul of red grouper. The deck hand was also great. 5 anglers and we never had to touch a fish or bait a hook. I will be booking with Greg every year. Boat was amazing. We had shade the whole time. My 12 year old nephew was very well taken care of by the crew. We went out 40 plus miles with zero issues.

A good laid back family trip
We were looking for a good laid back family trip offshore to do some fishing. Captain Greg and his First Mate Aiden provided a great time and experience for my sons.
