Matthew 14:17 Charters welcomes you to the stunning waters of Ruskin. With Captain Eric at the helm, you'll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.

These waters are known for , Redfish, Snook, Mangrove Snapper, Flounder, Gag Grouper, Spanish Mackerel, Spotted Seatrout, Sheepshead and more – with any luck, they'll make your reel scream. On the day of your trip, expect and drag screaming rod bent trip of a life time.

Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!

Your vessel for the day is a 26' Ranger center console with space for 5 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, bait and tackle.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

The charter boat covers your fishing license (in state and outta state), so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray) and sunglasses. Bottled water is included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Now, come aboard with Matthew 14:17 Charters and get hooked!

Lucky to Spend the Day with Captain Eric, What an Amazing Trip
Full Day Trip on April 4, 20264 adults1 child

Captain Eric was perfect in every way..... We booked our trip through the website and Captain Eric was immediately responsive. We discussed the trip and made sure we were completely aligned guaranteeing the best day possible. His boat was amazing (wow). He had all of the gear and bait ready to go. He took us to several hot spots and we hit right away. Over the entire day we caught several species. Not only did he have knowledge of the fish, but he also gave us background on the area and special historical facts that were very interesting. We could not have asked for a better Captain, guide and now friend. We cannot leave a review without additional thanks to his First Mate Jake. We really appreciate him too and wish him the best of luck as he finishes high school and focuses on the next chapter of his life. Take care young man. Thank you for an amazing day, we cannot wait until our next trip. The Stillman Family

Fishing with Eric
Half Day Trip (AM) on April 2, 20262 adults2 children

We went out with captain Eric(2 adults, 2 kids, 3 generations) just looking to put some fish in the livewell. We did just that. It didn't start out hot by any means, but Eric kept us grinding til it paid off. Eric was more than accommodating to our 11 and 4 year old. Wouldn't hesitate to go out with him again if we find ourselves down that way again!

Beautiful fishing experience
Half Day Trip (PM) on May 25, 20254 adults

Captain Erick took us fishing on his beautiful boat. We had an amazing time and will love to do it again. He clean all the fish afterwards and catered to us during the trip with things like allowed us to control the music preference from our own device via Bluetooth and took pictures of us and the fish we caught throughout the trip to make sure that we captured memories for the future. Keep up the awesome work captain Erick. and may God continue to watch over you and bless you. 🤙🎣

Really fun trip with Capt Eric
Half Day Trip (AM) on April 14, 2023

Fishing with Capt Eric during Spring Break 2023 was a blast for the whole family, including the teenage kids! We met Capt Eric at the boat ramp and we were fishing for Speckled Seatrout in Tampa bay after a quick ride of 20 minutes or so. The whole family caught fish and we had a delicious fish fry for dinner! One exciting thing that happened was catching a Cormorant by accident. Capt Eric helped us gently release it unharmed, and the kids enjoyed getting a personal visit with the beautiful bird.

Speckled Trout

I am an absolute fishing addict. I was born and raised in Valrico/Lithia, Florida. I have been fishing Tampa Bay and the Gulf my entire life. Even when I am off or on vacation, I'm fishing. It is my therapy, passion, and escape.
