When you're in the neighborhood of Tampa Bay, swing by the town of Ruskin, Florida. There Captain Cody's Charters will be waiting for you to provide you with the fishing experience you need. Spend a day cruising the water, enjoying the scenery, and going after your catch. The titular Captain Cody Gibbons will do his best to cater to your needs, and that you have an optimal fishing experience.
You'll be cruising the local waters on board the 23' Triton, bay boat model from 2014. It is spacious enough to accommodate groups of 6 guests. The boat is fitted with a single Mercury engine with 250 hp, and it can reach speeds up to 50. You'll be at your lucky hot spot in no time. For a more stealthy approach to fishing, a wireless trolling motor is available. Also, to ensure that you have a good catch, there's fishfinding equipment.
The charter covers inshore and nearshore areas which include reef and wreck locations. There's always action in the waters of Tampa Bay, but not all fish is available throughout the year. Gag Grouper is available from July till the end of September, and you can always go after Kingfish, Spotted Seatrout, and several types of Snapper. As for the fishing techniques, you can use light and heavy tackle, trolling, and drift fishing, to name some.
Just bring your sunscreen and the crew will take care of the rest. All the necessary gear, lures, and bait will be ready for you on board. The charter also covers your Florida fishing license. For a more comfortable trip, the crew offers drinks and snacks. If you need any additional help, a first mate is available. In case you get lucky you can keep the catch, and the crew will help you clean it. Children are welcome.

Cody put us on the fish and made everything very very easy and enjoyable.
Cody made this trip the best one we’ve ever had! Not only did he adjust his personal schedule around so we could fish on the good weather day, he made the day an absolute blast! He made sure me and my wife were comfortable and happy. We went to several fishing spots where we scored fish each time. Trout, red fish, sheeps head and snapper! If you want to have a GREAT experience on a very nice comfortable and super clean boat, I highly recommend Captain Cody! We’ve been with a few charters out here and I can tell you Cody is BY FAR the best if you want to catch fish and have a good time doing it!
Even though we went looking for Hogfish and did not catch any... We caught around 50 fish in total. On the way back we even caught a couple of grouper in the shipping channels. Great experience!
My son ( age 23) and I had a great time. We caught our limit of Red fish, several Snook and Spotted Trout (Tampa Bay Slam). We did the six hour trip and enjoyed Captain Cody.
Another good experience fishing with Captain Cody, very professional, experienced, and accommodating. Will be booking again.

As my own boss, I could be honest about the bite, reschedule when the weather isn't so good. My philosophy is that people pay for a charter so they don't wanna go fishing in bad weather or a bad time of the day. My company is for the customer not for the dollar. If you booked on a day where the weather is not promising I'm going to do my best to take care of you and reschedule. I won't push the charter through just to make a dime.
