These waters are known for Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel (Kingfish), White Marlin, Sailfish, Cubera Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, and more – with any luck, they'll make your reel scream. On the day of your trip, you're likely to troll and bottom fish.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Capt. Rene Gustavo runs a 31' Bertram motor yacht with space for 4 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect. Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Alex the captain was very informative and aware of the area. Diego (guessing on the spelling) was non-stop moving and a very nice young man! We only caught 1 baracuda, but it was definitely not from the crews lack of trying. The boat could use some work, and I didn't see a fish finder after looking for it a while. Usually it's near the wheel house so that's where I did most my looking. 😆 I would definitely say if you're looking for a crew that will try all 5 hours to get you fish, this is the one. Also as we all know it's called fishing not catching! Tight lines to all!
The boat and equipment were okay but got the job done! We were catching fish on an overcast day when nobody else was!

We won't book with this company again. Poor communication led to a delayed departure of nearly one hour. The crew were either misinformed or trying to misinform us as to what catch we could keep. The crew promoted Gray's Taxidermy as the only way to "keep" a marlin (which is not true). Won't book with them again.
