Go fishing with Malama Charters Hilo on a 32' Custom Sportfishing boat. Captain Jerry will be your guide, giving you access to many years of sportfishing experience.
Local species include Wahoo (Ono), Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Barracuda, Striped Marlin, Blue and Black Marlin, Red, Pink, Striped and Gray Snapper, Giant Trevally, Amberjack, and more. Our primary method for fishing is Trolling with big game lures, however you may do some light tackle fishing if conditions permit, jigging, bottom fishing with electric reels, or maybe something more specialized in certain areas to target a species.
Capt. Jerry believes in teaching kids to fish while they're young, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must be 7 or older, wear life vests under 12, so you will need to provide a appropriate life vest for your child.
You'll step aboard a renovated 32' Radovich sportfishing boat with space for 6 passengers and a huge 13'x14' back fishing deck. It has Outriggers, Penn #80 and #130 Commercial Big Game rods and reels with all the essentials. We do not have a fighting chair, however we do have fighting seat. There's a lockable toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with our proven custom lures .
Capt. Jerry will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Deckhands/Mates work only for tips, so it's required to offer them a 10–20% gratuity.
Please, make sure you have a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), closed toed shoes and a light rain jacket. Water and soft Drinks will be available for you. Drugs, Alcohol are not allowed. We offer light snacks for you on board. If you need medication bring it, and it's important that we are informed of any Physical ailments or limitations you or your guests have. Safety is our first concern. IF YOU HAVE MOTION SICKNESS, PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY. SEA SICKNESS WILL RUIN YOUR TRIP!!!
