Captain Jerry was great!, friendly and knowable.. Tylor was awesome!!! Hi knowledge of Archeology of the big island and the sights to see while on the island made for a great time after the charter was finished! First and foremost Captain Jerry is focused on safety and a good fishing experience. I’ve been on many charters and there comes a time when fishing is difficult. In these situations there are those captains and mates that will grind it out and still catch fish using a multitude of techniques.That’s the DNA of Captain Jerry and first mate Tyler. We caught a some great Mahi Mahi and a nice Wahoo. If you are on the Big Island and want to fish we recommend Malama charters for you and your family.

Captain Jerry was very nice and knowledgeable. The boat was very clean and his deck hand Tyler helped with anything we needed when it came to using equipment and baiting hooks. We caught mahi and tuna. Overall it was an amazing fishing trip and we look forward to fishing with Jerry again.

The family came to Hawaii for Christmas and New Year’s from Wyoming. We decided to set up a fishing trip for a day. It started out that we weren’t sure about the weather, and Capt Jerry reassured us he would keep an eye on it and made sure there was crew available. On the day it turned into a beautiful day with lots of laughs and fun on the boat.
