716 Sportfishing is here to help you experience the stunning waters of Olcott. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Matt can tell you all about the local fishery.
This charter targets King Salmon as they make their way up the rivers and streams to spawn. Unlike the charter’s other larger boat, you will not troll on this excursion. This is a hands-on lighter tackle way to catch the big mature Salmon. You will be drift fishing and/or casting lures (all provided) depending on conditions. These charters will only take place in late September through the end of October.
Your day begins aboard an 18’ Tracker aluminum fishing boat with space for 3 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect. It’s always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now’s the time to experience fishing in Olcott for yourself, with 716 Sportfishing!
