Mississippi John's Guide Service
Mississippi John’s Guide Service specializes in fishing the waters around Oswego and invites you along for a trip to remember.
Here you’ll have access to local waters, including a few honeyholes that only the locals can clue you in on. Your guide specializes in drift fishing, which is what you’ll be doing on the day of your trip. John will provide rods and reels, as well as lures.
These waters are known for Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Chinook Salmon, and more – with any luck, it won’t be long before "Fish on!" Groups of up to 8 can join these excursions. You’ll make your way to the fishing grounds on foot, so be sure to dress for current weather conditions and bring only as much as you can carry.
Expect to get in touch with John before the trip so you know where to meet and how to get there.
Your fishing license for the day is not included, so members of your group will need to buy one. You can find out more online, including exceptions that may apply. Layered clothing and appropriate footwear are always encouraged (if you aren’t sure what that means, just ask). It’s never a bad idea to bring sunblock, sunglasses, and bottled water in any weather conditions.

Half day bank fishing oswego river
Only anglers to catch one on a super slow day.
John was awesome. Even before heading out to fish I was already well aware of the conditions and knew the chances of catching a king salmon were really low. I took it as an opportunity to learn more of the art of fishing from John as he is a wealth of knowledge and has decades of experience. We were the last of the anglers who arrived in the morning ,and at the end of our time together, caught a good sized chinook. I'll absolutely be looking to head out with John again in the future.

@mississippi.john_fishing is an amazing guide, who goes above and beyond if you are able/ willing to walk. We knew coming into the weekend that it might be slow and our originally booked guide canceled on us. @mississippi.john_fishing not only took us out for some night fishing, he took us out again Saturday morning since we didn't knock them out of the park the night before. He is knowledgeable about the area and has been fishing it for years. He'll take care of you and all your fishing needs. He even got our fish cleaned for us since it was so late by the time I landed it! Thank you Mississippi John! We had a great time fishing with you.

Night fishing the oswego river
Fun trip
John is a great guide. An awesome guy had a good time chatting while we were fishing learned a few things the great guide experience I would recommend it for anybody that wants to get out and do something different. He does it on foot and he breaks his butt to give you the best experience. I will definitely be doing this trip again and bring in friends, if you are new or old, are you to the Oswego Pulaski area and want to catch some fish, and learn a few things give John a call

early season salmon trip
I have been fishing with Mississippi John's guide service for 2 years now, and I plan on fishing with him in the future. John is very knowledgeable and efficient at catching salmon in the oswego river the right way. He is a very good teacher and his trips are fun for any skill level. He uses and provides high end gear for all of his clients. He is also very entertaining and will keep you laughing for your entire trip. Would highly recommend
