Hoping to catch some Big Bass on Lake Placid or Lake June in Winter? Morrell Fishing Adventures is where your adventure begins!
Largemouth Bass and more inhabit these waters, depending on the season. You'll target your catch with artificial baits, live wild shiners, or both!
You'll be welcome aboard a 21' Blazer 625 Pro Elite Bass boat with space for 4 passengers. It comes pro-level loaded with 3 to 4 Lowrance HDS live graphs with std, down scan, side scan, live scan, 10' powerpoles, and a 36v Lowrance ghost trolling motor for the clients to find their Florida trophies! Valerie will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
It's recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Long sleeve wicking or fishing shirts are recommended along with buffs and hats. It's Florida and you can burn year-round. Ice and bottled water will be available for you. Clients are encouraged to bring snacks, sodas, or sports drinks if they prefer.

Hands down the best bass guide I have ever been with! She knows the lake extremely well and caught a ton of quality fish. If you are guessing yourself about booking a trip with her don’t be afraid she puts in a ton of time finding fish for you!
Valerie Morrell of Morrell Charters guided me on the Headwaters of the St. John River. We caught BASS, about 33. A half dozen at 5 lbs, none under 3 lbs. If you want a Captain that is committed to giving you a Great fishing experience, use her. She is very client focused and a pleasure to spend the day on the water with. I have fished with many captains but none with a client focus that she has. I very highly recommend Morrell fishing Charter and you will have an amazing experience.
Just got off the boat with Captain Valerie! What a great fishing adventure. My husband and myself took our two grandkids 9 and 11. She was knowledge and patients with the boys. They totaled 44 fish for the day. It was a great memory maker which I’m sure will become at the minimum a yearly experience if not more. What an absolute pleasure. Thank you again Valerie!
started day off hot with fish, but it slowed. Captain V did a great job in not letting us sit on dry holes and kept trying to find us fish.
Valerie was a very skilled and knowledgeable guide. I would definitely recommend her. She puts you on the fish.
