If you're ready to experience fishing in San Jose Del Cabo, we've got you covered with Capricho Sport Fishing. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain David Rosales can tell you all about the local fishery.
Amberjack, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Snapper, Black Grouper, Yellowtail Amberjack, Roosterfish, and more are in the cards, depending on the time of year. You'll target your catch by spinning, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Your boat for the day is a 24' Center console that can carry up to 3 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures. Live bait is available for an extra fee. Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard!
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring snacks, drinks, a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock. Bottled water is included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Catching fish with Captain Carlos[aka. Charly Tuna]

My buddy and I had a great fishing trip and made some fabulous memories with Captain Carlos. Captain Carlos was very knowledgeable and got us to the reef and put us on fish right away. Caught lots of Grouper, Whitefish, Snapper and even a couple of Scorpion fish. Ended the fishing adventure with a ~120lb Yellow Fin. 45 minutes to bring that beast in, but what blast. Highly recommend Captain Carlos and leaving out of San Jose. Much prefer going out of San Jose, Del Cabo rather then San Lucas. Will definitely charter Charly Tuna again the next time we are in Cabo! Thanks!

Captain David was awesome. we did the 4 hr trip 1-5 pm. water was choppy no action but stayed positive. last hr on the way back we hit! My boys will remember this forever. Windy or not worth to book with them. Not guaranteed to get a fish but thats fishing. Worth the time with my boys. Thanks for the experience!

Our Captain and First Mate know how to fish these waters! First, we were on fish right out of the harbor. That was a great sign. Second, I had informed our captain that I would love for my wife to catch a Dorado (Mahi Mahi). And boom that was her 5th fish! A beautiful fish to catch in beautiful waters! Third, our Captain hooked an 8 foot, 150 pound Marlin. That fish was a life time fish for me and the fight was exceptional. Our Captain and First Mate were excellent teachers on how to land a fish of that size and they worked hard to make sure we got it in the boat. Such an amazing experience.

Ok so I'll break it down for you all. I'm an experienced fisherman and came out to fish with my wife and my 7 year old son who has never been out on a chartered fishing boat. When you arrive, park just past the Gonzo hotel. Website directions mention the long pier but it's just past that.
Captain was great and I mentioned before hand that I wanted a Rooster fish and when we started out we bought the live bait which is a must! Don't go without it and it's $30. Well worth it.
Within 20 minutes we were getting Rooster Fish hits! I landed a beautiful rooster and we lost a few others. Then I mentioned I wanted to get my son on a dorado. Off we went and before we knew it, we had hooked up and my son landed a beautiful dorado. We saw and chased after marlin but they didn't bite. The swell was getting a bit choppy and we cruised towards shore and got into some big Jacks!
Our captain knew where the fish were and had no problem getting us on them. Very experienced and friendly and he was great with helping my son land his fish!
Our captain also did a great job cleaning our fish and we went home with some beautiful filets! Fish tacos that night!!!
If you are on the fence about booking this trip, I would totally recommend you do it. Do the 6 hour trip at least and be prepared to hook and fight some fish!

My girlfriend and I had a great time fishing with Captain Carlos. Requested to target Roosterfish and Mahi Mahi. The rooster bite was slow so we moved on the Mahi. Caught one in short order. Also did some jigging/bottom fishing for grouper. Landed a nice bull mahi while bottom fishing. Spotted it cruising along the surface and pitched a live bait back to it. Caught numerous grouper until we were ready to troll again. Overall a great half day trip. Thanks!
