Laguna Madre Madness
Make some memories in South Padre Island and go fishing with Laguna Madre Madness.
These waters are known for Flounder, Speckled Trout, Redfish, and more – with any luck, you’ll hook into a few! For these species, you’re likely to drift, or do some jigging or popping.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Your vessel for the day is a 19’ Blue Wave bay boat that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has all the essentials. Capt. Jerry will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures.
Before coming aboard, you will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect. You can’t go wrong when you bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. Time to make it happen, with Laguna Madre Madness!

Summer fishing trip
Captain Jerry was great. Me, my 10 y/o daughter, and two friends went out this morning with him. It was a great time. He helped show my daughter with casting and how to reel in and by the end of the trip she was slinging it out all by herself and catching trout. Said she had the best time. Caught plenty of fish but just one of those days with only three keepers. We had a great time regardless. Capt is very knowledgable and helps everyone with everything. We will definitely be back and use capt jerry again and highly recommend.

Great Captain, Great Trip!
The captain was outstanding! He was professional, friendly, and knew exactly where to take us to catch fish. He made the whole trip fun, shared a lot of knowledge, and kept the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable. We caught plenty and had an amazing time on the water. Awesome trip!
Booking with Captain Jerry was a great experience! This was the third guided trip my son and I have taken and our first time in South Padre Island. Captain Jerry communicated great prior to the trip, was early & ready for us upon arrival, and did everything he could to get us on the fish. We caught lots of fish and had a great time the whole trip. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely book with Captain Jerry again next time we’re in South Padre.

Husband and I were in town for a vacation and going on a charter fishing trip was number one on our list of things to do. From the moment we booked with CaptainJerry, he went well above and beyond. He began communicating with us immediately, letting us know step-by-step what we would need and what to expect. From the moment we booked the trip until the very end of our excursion, he let us know in word and in action that the trip was all about us and our enjoyment. Excellent fishing guide.
I am a very experienced fisherman, and this was my first time with Captain Jerry. He’s very knowledgeable, well equipped and is a great person to spend time on the water with. It was a very difficult day with high winds yet we managed to put some fish in the box and the trip was a complete success. Will use him next time I go out.
