Blue Monkey Charters – Fairport Harbor 

There’s a fish with your name on it in Fairport Harbor and Blue Monkey Charters will help you catch it! Your guide for the day is Captain Craig, which allows you to benefit from years of professional experience.

Species like Walleye, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, and more are in the cards if you come at the right time of year. Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Families making of a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also remember to bring snacks – luckily, Capt. Craig will have some on board!

You’ll be dropping lines from a 24’ Thunder Jet Alexis Pro 22 sport fishing boat with room for 5 passengers. It comes with downriggers, and all the essentials. Capt. Craig will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

Don’t forget to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Water will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on board.
