On The Swing – Steelhead Float Trip
Captain Joe specializes in fly fishing for Steelhead in northern Ohio. Fly fishing is the real challenge, but you can also fish with conventional spinning tackle.
You'll enjoy 8+ hours of guided fishing for 1 or 2 anglers. Lunch is provided, usually hot soup and sandwiches (depending on the temperature). A full-day trip can be customized to your needs or requests. This is a float trip that allows us to cover a larger section of the river. During these trips, catch-and-release is preferred.
You also have the option to fish from the boat throughout the day. It is a unique experience to float down a river and fish all day. If interested, please message the captain so he can answer any questions. Rods, reels, lines, flies, and all other tackle included. Waders and personal clothing are not supplied.
Your guide has spent most of his life fishing and guiding these rivers. He understands the patterns and trends which occur seasonally and with the most recent weather trends. You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
A few items to bring include bottled water, sunglasses, and rain gear/waders. Please look at the forecast and plan accordingly. Dress to be warmer, as you can always remove a layer or two. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.
