Get to know the Sierra like never before by booking an Orvis-endorsed guide at Tight Line Therapy.
Rivers here are loaded with Trout and provide opportunities a short walk from the car, all the way to backcountry waters at high elevation where you rarely see another person much less another angler, not to mention the productive honey holes only a local guide can show you.
The name of the game around here is fly fishing, which is how you’ll get acquainted with these waters. Seasoned anglers may also kayak or float stretches of water. Lyle will provide rods and reels, wading gear as needed.
Species like Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Brook Trout, and more including the rare Golden Trout could be biting, depending on conditions and location. Any fish you catch with a guide will be released; many areas within the park restrict harvesting fish, we may fish in waters where retaining/keeping your catch is permitted, you’re welcome to return on your own if you really want to retain/eat a fish. We hope you will come to love/appreciate our wild and native Trout & keep’em alive and wet!
Lyle welcomes groups as large as 12-24 with advance notice. You’ll be fishing without a boat, so expect to make your way on foot at least part of the time and come dressed for current weather conditions.
In some cases, Lyle may provide transportation but you can otherwise expect to meet at the fishing grounds and drive between fishing locations as needed. Get in touch to find out more before the day - send a message now with any questions!
Be sure to buy a local fishing license for all 16 or older in your group ahead of time. You can purchase at most gas stations or sporting goods stores in the area. It’s never a bad idea to bring bottled water, snacks sunscreen, and sunglasses in any weather conditions. Children are welcome but should be age 7 or older to fish.
