Wild Coast Alaska – Charter Fishing
Come join the Wild Coast Alaska crew for a full-day charter aboard the Berserker out of Homer, AK. Full-day charters are 8+ hours, beginning between 6 and 7 am from our slip in the Homer Small Boat Harbor.
All private full-day charters are tailored based on guests' desires, weather conditions, tides, seasons, and what fishing techniques/ species are producing the best results at the time of your trip. Species we fish for include Halibut, Salmon, and Rockfish and may include Lingcod when in season (after July 1). It is common to put multiple species on the boat each day.
Private Ultimate Charters are the Premier Alaska Fishing Experience! This is a long-range trip designed to target bigger fish and includes actively jigging for Lingcod, Yelloweye, and bigger Halibut. This trip is weather dependent and will be reduced in price to a Private Full Day Charter if the fishing grounds are not safe to reach.
In addition to the great fishing that Homer, AK has to offer, you will enjoy spectacular scenery and wildlife including eagles, otters, and whales. Families will appreciate the large heated cabin with a private on-board toilet.
For those interested in lodging options, let us know and we can help with accommodations.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 20% tip is customary.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re looking for a fishing charter in Homer, stop searching and book with Karl. This trip exceeded our expectations in every possible way. From the moment we stepped aboard, Karl and his first mate, Cody, were the perfect combination of professionalism and personality. They worked incredibly hard to keep us on fish while making the entire day relaxed, fun, and enjoyable. Cody is knowledgeable, hardworking, and a tremendous asset to the operation. The fishing was phenomenal. We limited out on halibut, yelloweye, and black rockfish, and also caught lingcod, cod, pink salmon, and silver salmon. The variety of species and the quality of the fish were beyond what we had hoped for. We came home with an incredible haul, unforgettable memories, and stories we’ll be telling for years—especially watching Karl expertly dispatch our halibut! What really sets this charter apart is that Karl genuinely cares about giving his clients the best experience possible. He goes the extra mile, shares his knowledge, keeps the atmosphere light and fun, and clearly takes pride in what he does. The ride back to the harbor gave us another appreciation for Cody’s skills. Watching him expertly fillet fish on a moving boat was impressive—he has the sea legs and confidence of a seasoned fisherman. By the time we docked, our group of five was heading home with an incredible 192 pounds of beautifully processed fish, a testament to the hard work and efficiency of the crew. We’ve already decided this is our charter in Homer. We’ll be recommending Karl to every friend and family member who makes the trip to Alaska, and we won’t fish with anyone else when we come back. Thanks again, Karl and Cody, for an unforgettable day. We can’t wait to do it again!
Captain made an awesome day out of tough weather day. we caught lots and lots of fish due to his extra efforts. highly recommend him for charters for anyone looking for a fun safe time on a comfortable boat. it was very cold and rainy but we were comfortable the whole time. first mate cleaned all of the fish on the way in so when we docked we were able to walk away. mate was on top of things and always had everything ready. again highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun time.
I’ve been on many charters and I truly appreciated the low key, no attitude environment. I always appreciate cleanliness, space and good equipment as well. Seems every charter heads to the same places for a catch and it is good to have an experienced captain who can mix things up once in awhile and use their experience to enhance the trip. I recommend without reservation and encourage more dialogue regarding what type of fishing experience is wanted.
We had a once in a lifetime experience with Captain Karl and Deckhand Cody. On Thursday, the weather was against us and projected to get worse but we still limited out on Halibut and got a bunch of Cod in the boat. Day 2, the weather was better. We limited out on Rock Fish, Yellow Eye, Halibut, and got a couple Ling Cod and more cod in the boat. All in all, a wonderful experience. 5 stars is NOT enough. Thank you Karl and Cody for a WONDERFUL experience
My wife, son, and I had a great time on the Berserker. We caught our limit of halibut, then switched over to Pacific Cod. Our group didn't catch any massive halibut, but for 3 of us,we still ended up with almost 100lbs of fish by the time Cody was done cleaning them! I'd say the cod were almost more fun to catch as it was just one after another until we had 4-5 per person. We had 4 on at a time at one point. My son also caught a lingcod which was able to be kept so he was pretty excited about that since the season opened the day before and it was above minimum size. The boat was comfortable and handled the big water well. Cody was great on the deck and kept things clean and safe. Captain knew the spots to find fish, had to sort through some smaller ones to catch our over 27" fish. We did the Halibut + Captain's choice trip, so we probably kept some smaller fish than we would have otherwise due to time constraints. I would have no hesitation to recommend Wild Coast Alaska to anyone!

I spent much of my childhood outdoors – camping, hunting, fishing, and boating. I have enjoyed that outdoor life with many adventures continuing old family traditions and starting some new ones, too. No matter where I was living, I always came back to the water. I've been fortunate enough to fish all over the US, including high mountain lakes and streams of the Rocky Mountains and both coasts, as well as in Mexico and the Caribbean. I enjoyed many wonderful charters – and endured a few less-than-wonderful ones, learning much along the way. But it was having my son, Cody, and introducing him to the outdoors, and fishing in particular, that drew me to the idea of running my own charter fishing business. He has grown up loving fishing, especially in Florida and Alaska. And watching his eyes light up as he drops the perfect cast in front of a tailing Redfish, or struggles and then finally lands that Halibut that weighs more than he does, I've learned that helping others discover the joy of fishing a wild coast, wherever that coast may be, is the most rewarding. It was time to turn my passion for fishing and sharing that with others from a hobby into something more. Alaska is known by many names – The Land of the Midnight Sun, The Last Frontier, and The Land of Promise. For me, it is also known as home. Like so many before me, my adventures in Alaska began years ago, but with each trip, whether on a remote float down the Kwethluk River, chartering a boat in Ketchikan, or the many adventures on the Kenai Peninsula, I fell in love with the cold, clear water and the beautiful mountains of Alaska. I would love to share Alaska with you and your family. Join me aboard the Fiskr Valhalla and at the Beach House, and discover what joys the wild coast of Alaska holds for you…
