Wild Coast Alaska – Charter Fishing
Come join the Wild Coast Alaska crew for a full-day charter aboard the Berserker out of Homer, AK. Full-day charters are 8+ hours, beginning between 6 and 7 am from our slip in the Homer Small Boat Harbor.
All private full-day charters are tailored based on guests' desires, weather conditions, tides, seasons, and what fishing techniques/ species are producing the best results at the time of your trip. Species we fish for include Halibut, Salmon, and Rockfish and may include Lingcod when in season (after July 1). It is common to put multiple species on the boat each day.
Private Ultimate Charters are the Premier Alaska Fishing Experience! This is a long-range trip designed to target bigger fish and includes actively jigging for Lingcod, Yelloweye, and bigger Halibut. This trip is weather dependent and will be reduced in price to a Private Full Day Charter if the fishing grounds are not safe to reach.
In addition to the great fishing that Homer, AK has to offer, you will enjoy spectacular scenery and wildlife including eagles, otters, and whales. Families will appreciate the large heated cabin with a private on-board toilet.
For those interested in lodging options, let us know and we can help with accommodations.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 20% tip is customary.

My wife, son, and I had a great time on the Berserker. We caught our limit of halibut, then switched over to Pacific Cod. Our group didn't catch any massive halibut, but for 3 of us,we still ended up with almost 100lbs of fish by the time Cody was done cleaning them! I'd say the cod were almost more fun to catch as it was just one after another until we had 4-5 per person. We had 4 on at a time at one point. My son also caught a lingcod which was able to be kept so he was pretty excited about that since the season opened the day before and it was above minimum size. The boat was comfortable and handled the big water well. Cody was great on the deck and kept things clean and safe. Captain knew the spots to find fish, had to sort through some smaller ones to catch our over 27" fish. We did the Halibut + Captain's choice trip, so we probably kept some smaller fish than we would have otherwise due to time constraints. I would have no hesitation to recommend Wild Coast Alaska to anyone!

Catain Karl and Deckhand Cody run a great outfit, and we were very happy with our day. They were clear on their communications ahead of time, listened to our goals, and most importantly got us on some fish! We limited out on halibut, rockfish, and cod, with 30 total kept fish between the 4 of us. We had a mixture of angling experience onboard, but they did a great job of seeing our tackle for success and providing clear instructions on the best way to catch each type and the regulations with each one. Everyone in our group left having a great time and I would recommend them to anyone!

Cpt Karl got us on Halibut the first stop, caught 2 on the first cast, too small to keep. No keepers on that stop but we did catch some Cod. As soon as the action was over, we moved to the next spot. Caught several Halibut but all returned to the water, too small, caught several Cod. Again moving to the next hot spot, caught several Halibut and keep 2 average size, and more Cod. Moving on to the next spot caught the final 2 larger Halibut and several more Cod. Off to troll for Salmon, caught 1 King and 1 Pink and 2 Rock Fish. By the end of the 8 hour trip my brother and I caught 13 Cod, 4 Halibut, 2 Rock Fish, 1 King and 1 Pink. What a great day, Cpt Karl worked his butt off keeping us on fish and making for a great trip.
The captain was great taking us to places with lots of fish, Cody the deckhand was quick to help bring in fish. He also did a great job filleting all the fish. Our group of six caught 12 Rock Fish (limit for each person), 18 Salmon (lots of pink, a couple silver, and 1-2 chum), and 32 cod. We only stopped because everyone's arms got so tired!

Super fun charter with Captain Karl and his deckhand (and son) Cody. Rough conditions (weather-wise) prevented us from doing the multi-species trip that was going to include Rockfish—it was a bummer but out of everyone’s control. Captain Karl put us on the halibut and everyone got their over and under keepers. I had a nicer one that hooked up that got off. We also caught a spiny dogfish, skate, a couple sculpin, and a small flounder. This was the first season with their new boat upgrade and the boat was really comfortable and the layout was efficient. Deckhand Cody rigged up the equipment and made it look easy. When a fish hooked on they let the fisherman do everything up until the fish gets to the boat when it is gaffed. It was a great day overall with a rock-solid crew! Thanks again to Wild Coast Alaska — Charter Fishing!

I spent much of my childhood outdoors – camping, hunting, fishing, and boating. I have enjoyed that outdoor life with many adventures continuing old family traditions and starting some new ones, too. No matter where I was living, I always came back to the water. I've been fortunate enough to fish all over the US, including high mountain lakes and streams of the Rocky Mountains and both coasts, as well as in Mexico and the Caribbean. I enjoyed many wonderful charters – and endured a few less-than-wonderful ones, learning much along the way. But it was having my son, Cody, and introducing him to the outdoors, and fishing in particular, that drew me to the idea of running my own charter fishing business. He has grown up loving fishing, especially in Florida and Alaska. And watching his eyes light up as he drops the perfect cast in front of a tailing Redfish, or struggles and then finally lands that Halibut that weighs more than he does, I've learned that helping others discover the joy of fishing a wild coast, wherever that coast may be, is the most rewarding. It was time to turn my passion for fishing and sharing that with others from a hobby into something more. Alaska is known by many names – The Land of the Midnight Sun, The Last Frontier, and The Land of Promise. For me, it is also known as home. Like so many before me, my adventures in Alaska began years ago, but with each trip, whether on a remote float down the Kwethluk River, chartering a boat in Ketchikan, or the many adventures on the Kenai Peninsula, I fell in love with the cold, clear water and the beautiful mountains of Alaska. I would love to share Alaska with you and your family. Join me aboard the Fiskr Valhalla and at the Beach House, and discover what joys the wild coast of Alaska holds for you…
