Fishing with Uli
There’s a fish with your name on it in Zihuatanejo and Fishing with Uli will help you catch it! Captain Ulises will be your guide, which means you’ll tap into years of knowledge and experience.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Barracuda, Bonito, Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, African Pompano Jack, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Needlefish, Pompano, Roosterfish, Sailfish, and whatever else is biting. During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
You’ll be welcome aboard a 25’ sportfishing vessel with room for 4 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Fantastic!
My wife and I went out with Capt. Uli and Eduardo. We met at 6:30 and headed out to fish. Capt. Uli and Eduardo are excellent guides, we were on fish in a hurry. We caight a Mahi-Mahi, my first and a bunch of bonito. we kept troññing and headed to a quiet lagoon with a reef to snorkel. When we got out of the water Eduardo had made bonito cerviche for our lunch. Delicious! We enjoyed spending time with Uli and Eduardo. Uli is fluent in English and Spanish. Ediardo filleted our fish and we took it to our hotel for them to cook for us. Great time, will do it again. Highly recommend them.

great guides and awesome day
awesome day on the water. these guys tried everything to put fish in the boat. they were constantly looking and trying new lures and fresh bait. They even made us Fresh Ceviche (just ask previously) , which was awesome. Uli speaks perfect english and also has lots of knowledge outside of fishing about this area. I highly recommend this guiding service. Also, another great thing was they didn't mind me using a card. We went on another boat, and it was a huge deal?

7 Hour Trip
Fishing with Capt. Uli.
Capt. Uli contacted us the day before our scheduled fishing trip(s). He went out of his way to assist us with an issue we had with our first hotel in Zihuantanejo and helped us with translation and re-location to Ixtapa. He was patient with our two boys (first time on the sea and first-time fishing) They were apprehensive with the boat rocking with the waves, but after the first fish was on the hook it all went away!. We decided to stay near shore and fish and not go way out for the chance of catching a big one. Capt. Uli got us on the bonita tuna and the boys had great fun catching lots of fish on both days. Overall, this was a great time for our boys. My goal was to make some life-long memories for them and fishing with Uli certainly accomplished this! Capt. Uli and his crew made for a memorable trip with lots of fish. I recommend Fishing with Uli if you want a good value and some fun for your money!

Awesome fishing trip
I booked a trip for me and my son, and we had an amazing time fishing with Uli! From the start, his enthusiasm and expertise made the experience unforgettable. We had some great bites throughout the day and even reeled in two nice sailfish! Uli is an awesome guide.
Easy to find, right at the parking lot of the pier. Very friendly, speaks great English and has a firstmate that knows what he is doing. Unfortunately, we did not catch anything but, Uli tried his best and even apologized. If you're a fisherman, you know that sometimes it's just not your day. I highly recommend Uli to anybody wanting to go out fishing. He is also very in tune with the local culture, food and willing to share his knowledge
