Depending on conditions, you might hook into Black Drum, Bluefish, Cobia, Crab, Flounder, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Ladyfish, Redfish, Blacktip Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Sheepshead, and whatever else takes the bait. You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Fishfinatic Guide Service is a child-friendly charter service, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You'll be welcome aboard a 21' Key West bay boat with a capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. Don't leave home without sunglasses, a hat, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had a fantastic fishing trip with Captain Larry in South Carolina. Captain Larry was friendly, patient, and worked hard to help everyone catch fish. He took the time to answer questions, share tips, and make sure everyone on board had a great experience. We caught fish, had a lot of fun, and enjoyed every minute of the trip. Captain Larry’s positive attitude and knowledge made the day even better. I would highly recommend booking a trip with him if you’re looking for a great day on the water. Larry was awesome, his boat was a little small but other than that, we had a great time. We caught redfish, flounder, whiteing, even some bluefish. Larry was super accomodating to us even though the bite wasn’t the greatest and we went midday. I would highly recommend him to any level of fisherman. My son and I do this about 2 times a year and Larry got us catching fish like we were pros. We could tell he really knew the area well and all of the honeyholes for all sorts of fish like flounder, trout, and redfish. Larry was awesome!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Captain Larry was absolutely incredible — hands down one of the best experiences we’ve had as a family! This was my kids’ very first fishing trip, and he made it unforgettable from start to finish. We caught around 10 fish and even landed a keeper flounder, which had the kids beyond excited. But what really stood out was Captain Larry himself — patient, engaging, and genuinely invested in making sure we all had a great time. He took the time to teach, encouraged the kids, and kept things fun the entire trip. On top of that, he was just an awesome guy to talk to — felt like we were out on the water with a friend. My kids will be talking about this trip for years. If you’re looking for a captain who delivers both a great fishing experience and lasting memories, Captain Larry is the one. We’ll definitely be back!

Larry gave specific directions for arrival. It was a great boat ride to the first spot, and a pleasant breezy day in spite of 97 degree weather. We caught an edible speckled (trout) fish, which Larry skinned and boned and ready to fry. At the second/third stops we caught a flounder, not quite big enough to keep, and a pig fish that actually oinked! Fun afternoon with Larry :)
Captain Larry went above and well beyond with getting us on fish. The fishing was bad in Murrells Inlet so he recommend going to Georgetown and we made a bad day into a great day with catching a few extra species that we didn't even expect to catch and even helping out a fellow angler at the dock who lost his boat at the dock. Great captain and would recommend him to anyone that wants a great day on the water catching fish along with great conversation
