Local species include Striped Bass, Flounder, Black Seabass, Tautog, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, and more with any luck. During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children 12 and under must wear life vests, so please make sure you bring a life vest for your child. Also remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You'll step aboard a 30' Sea Fox center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Greg will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It's always wise to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. No Drinks will be available for you, so please bring your own drinks. They do provide ice! Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had a great day out on the water as a family of four w/my 10yo son + 11yo daughter, and we all caught fish. Unfortunately, we only had one keeper. Overall it was a great experience.

Captain Greg was incredibly accommodating with all of my requests, including a specific method for dispatching the fish and rescheduling our trip due to unforeseen circumstances. The boat was clean and well-maintained, and both he and his first mate, Justin, were engaging, funny, professional, and excellent leaders. Everyone on board had a great time out on the bay. Despite some weather concerns, Captain Greg made a thoughtful decision that prioritized the group’s safety, which showed his responsibility and good judgment. I would absolutely book with them again. Thank you, Captain Greg and Justin!
Went on a 4 hour afternoon trip for my son’s 10th birthday. Great trip overall! Captan Greg is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He went above and beyond for my son to catch that fish. We weren’t having luck in the beginning due to high tides or something like that. So Captain Greg went to several spots to make sure he caught his fish! No first mate, but that did not matter, more room on the boat! The boat was nice and clean with cushiony seats. Wish there was more shade, but I guess all boats are like that, no big deal. We were fishing by Sandy Hook and saw some dolphins, which was very exciting! Highly recommend!

We booked a 4 hour afternoon trip to introduce our 5 year old to fishing. Captain Greg and Mate Rich were both great with him and tailored our trip to keep him engaged and having fun from start to finish. We sailed up through the river and there were lots of interesting things for him to see on the way to and from the fishing spots. They made sure he got plenty of opportunities to reel in fish and made sure he got a chance to check out everything on the boat and everything we all reeled in. The adults all had a great time too and all hooked fish. The boat was great for our group, with room around the entire perimeter. I would strongly recommend the Olivia Rose to any group and especially those with young children.
