These waters are known for Snook, Redfish, Black Drum, and more – with any luck, you’ll find out for yourself! On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You’ll be casting lines from a 23’ Mako center console with room for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. It’s always wise to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Captain John Delivers
We were signed up for an inshore trip. John proactively reached out to us the night before and said the fishing had been a little tough the past few days and wanted to know if we would be open to going 30 minutes offshore. We agreed to that and were not disappointed. I asked if we could find some fish that pull hard for my 19 and 16 year old kids and he delivered. We were into fish almost instantly and it continued that way for the entire trip. We were all exhausted from fighting fish. My kids both said that was one of the funnest things they had ever done. John went above and beyond and was also very personable and enjoyable to be around. He went out early that morning and caught us plenty of bait so that we could stay fishing the entire time. We couldn’t recommend him more.

Outstanding!!!
Within 5 minutes I knew this was going to be an excellent trip. Captain John was personal and approachable. His boat is set up to catch fish and he was prep'd with bait and tackle. We caught fish!!! We caught big fish!!! Captain John knows the waters and where to take his clients. He also provides the subtle things... such as music. His Playlist was on point. The conversation was on point. And the excitement to see his client hook up was on point!! His boat is set up to catch fish. No gimmicks, just straight up local fishing knowledge. I WILL FISH WITH CAPT JOHN AGAIN!!!

Tons of fun - great trip
John is a great guide. This was our first trip with John and we caught a wide variety of fish, plenty of keepers, and had a wonderful time. We landed oversized snook, a great tasting moon, and a cooler full of keeper snapper. John knows the fish species when the fish hits by how your rod responds, knows when to adjust to ensure a great fishing experience. If you are looking for a fun day on the water, John is your man. Great Trip w/ 6 Year Old!!!
My six year old loves to fish, and Captain John was amazing at putting us on the fish and keeping him occupied. We also had my mom with us who typically does not love to fish and she had a blast as well! The trip was amazing overall and I would highly recommend for any level of fisherman.

Great Fishing, Scenery & Conversation
We booked the 4-hour morning In-shore trip. Boating the Jupiter Inlet past all the magnificent shoreline mansions and their yachts (some with four 400 HP motors) made for a interesting and scenic trip. Capt John was very knowledgeable as to where the good fishing spots were and had entertaining stories about local places & people - even the 'grumpies'. All the gear was new and his boat was spotless. We used shrimp for live bait and caught a variety of fish - sheephead, sand pike and yellowtail snapper. Capt John fileted all of our fish, which we took to a U Hook It, We Cook It restaurant. As many previous reviews have stated, we highly recommend Capt John's Florida East Coast Fishing for a very productive as well as entertaining trip.
