Spend the day with Fish-N-Tripp Charters and see what's biting in the surrounding waters of the Outer Banks! Growing up on the Outer Banks with years of experience fishing on the water, your captain will not only be very competent to put you on the fish, but will also be able to educate you on some of the Outer Banks history and landmarks that you will see in passing throughout your day on the water.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Speckled Trout, Red Drum, Flounder, Bluefish, Striped Bass, Sheepshead, or Spanish Mackerel. But you never know what is out there until you go see for yourself! During the trip, you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Tripp also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board.
Capt. Tripp runs a 25' C-Hawk center console with room for 4 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered with the charter, along with lures and bait.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time on the water! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain. It's always wise to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses.

Half Day Trip – Inshore (PM) on September 2, 2025Cannot say enough about Captain Tripp. Great communication while in the process of booking a trip with him and answers all questions quick. As far as fishing this guy busts his butt to get you on fish and makes the “tripp” as enjoyable as possible. Most charters wouldn’t even go out because of the wind but Captain took us to a few spots where the wind played in our favor and put us on some good sized bluefish and drum. I’d recommend him to anyone looking for a fun time inshore. Capt grew up on the outer banks and you can tell he’s at home on the water.

He is probably in his mid 20’s but has been on the waters of OBX since he was very young and is a very experienced waterman. We were unsuccessful at first, but he moved locations and before long we were all catching fish. We’ve been on several charters as a family and this was by far the most fun we’ve had with any Captain. We will definitely book with Cpt. Tripp the next time we are in the Outer Banks. Highly Recommend!

Tripp had a plan to get us out of the wind and on fish that were currently active. The boys were pulling in some monsters right away. Local and knowledgeable Captain that made sure we were comfortable and on the fish. What more can you ask for.
